The reason why tbe aam 3 is gimp is because dual plane isnt in game and irccm type which he didnt mentioned in his statement

AAM-3 is nowhere near the performance of the Python. Additionally, unlike Israel which already has the AIM-9M, Japan had no other options for IRCCM.

Performance matters more than technology.
Additionally, sure, add the R-73M and AIM-9X. But you can’t just buff three nations and leave the rest to the wolves. You really want to fuck over Italy, or Japan, or Britain, or China, or Sweden, just because you don’t think they didn’t have a technological equivalent to the Python 4?
Aim-9x goes to any nation using Aim-9 variants already (70% of the game), R-73M appeases russian mains, Chinese IRCCM can be buffed to realism and we get our Python 4, then we get our Python 5 when the 5th gen missiles come out, like listed above

Though interim solutions are not ideal.
There is no ‘interim solution’ here, it’s the logical next step for missile advancement, we can’t jump from aim-9m and R-73 to 9x blk II and R-74M, especially when there is room for a stage between that.
For most countries, no, there isn’t a stage between that. Most nations went from the AIM-9M (even AIM-9L) or R-73 to IRIS-T and friends. There are missiles in between but not ones in service for most nations.
So this is an interim solution in that it’s acceptable to have compatible but ahistorical weapons as needed for balancing at top tier, but said weapons should be removed or adjusted as soon as a more permanent option is available, i.e., we get IRIS-T.
However, Gaijin is also terrible at replacing interim solutions. Look at the F-16AJ, or the MiG-29s’ lack of R-73, or the Gripens, Phantoms, Viggens, and many more aircraft that they keep from having their proper armament and even double down on it despite the need to avoid AIM-9Ls or AIM-120s on such aircraft having disappeared years ago.
R73m doesnt add anything spectacular only more fov to the seeker before launch (60°before launch)and 9x is already a no for air anyway

Only in grb you dont see them since it would be smokeless like the 9m which makes those missile extremely deadly if you dont flare in time

well russian missiles never got a imaging seekerhead, so they’re never on par with most other 5th gen ir
missiles. But, they got some of the best kinematics and range
Same here, being limited to the 9M is depressing, especially when the option exists and has been lingering in the files since the Barak II was added

just a little advise for the ones who dont know but right now the sufa its also overperforming because it weights 8930 kg now, and its real weight its 10000kg 10 tons to be precise, soo… like i said before expect this jet to be even worst than it is right now.
