Gripen C need those old spices
again gaijin dont do this type of bizarre thing when they have other options like upgrading the actual Ra´am arsenal, its more likely for this to happen than adding a yet that it do not exist which is a double-edged sword because when the jet finally enters in service and a lot of things differs from the original EX they would need to do a lot of work to change it and i dont see them doing this.
Let us keep them unique for a little bit lmao
Ra’am late is still yet to come with ECM dome and other advanced domestic upgrades, it’s likely that they’ll give that AESA and new engines (and other EX mods) and call it a day
I mean first of all they did this with the F-16AJ and Yak-141
Also even if there are differences, it’s easier to have a fully fledged model and working systems in game to slightly adjust than it is to start from scratch.
they did it with the AJ because there was no options left than that one, again am %100 sure that the Ra´am is going to get upgrade during the course of time until we get the F-35I next year this is what its most likely going to happen.
anyways lets stop with this because its offtopic actually.
The equivalent to an upgraded Ra’am would ofc just be the F-15E RMP, so no issues there.
I just don’t think it’s far fetched to see a F-15IA unless they delay the EX for a long long time.
F-35I better be good, for all the hype it gets irl I hope it’s great in game
they would most likely delay the EX because there is no actual need for it, the actual strike eagles can be totally upgraded.
dont put to much faith on them, if its israeli they would likely introduce it nerfed “for the sake of balance”
I would argue the addition of later Eurofighters and Rafales would necessitate the addition of the EX. In game at least it’d just be an RMP with GE-129s and 4 more missiles. Same goes for the IA I imagine.
look am gonna tell you what it could happen, probably the US would get the F-15EX, but not israel the thing with israel is that they would just upgrade the Ra´am armament to AIM-120C-7/8 if its needed and they would just add the Python-5 later next year but first they are gonna add the Python-4 to it between now and the end of the year.
I might not mind the addition of the Python-4 one to two patches before everyone gets next-gen IR missiles so long as Gaijin guaranteed that was the timeline.
The issue is Gaijin would never specify that, so we’re more than likely just going to have to wait for Python-5s and other equivalents.
On the bright side there’s still a chance for the Python-4 to come on earlier aircraft. Realistically it should replace 120A/Bs on the F-16C Barak II, and there’s some debate over whether both the C/D should keep Derbies. But still, Python-4s on both Barak IIs and the Kfir C.10 would be 100% okay with me once we get next gen IR missiles for everyone.
And then obviously by that point we’d have Python-5s for the SUFA.
Ngl python 5 looks pretty mediocre considering how it’s currently modelled on the spider. It’s the second worst of all next gen ir missiles on sams
It’s not this be all end all ir missile some people make it out to be
Israel will also get 9x blk 2 though so it doesn’t really matter, they can just use that
The Python 4 being significantly better than the 9M is more a testament to how mediocre the 9M is, truly the worst of the IRCCM missiles. At least for US top tier aircraft stuck with the 9M you have redeeming qualities; great BVR (15E) or spammability (F18).
The Sufa doesn’t have the flight performance for excelling in BVR, nor is it good enough to compete at close range with the actual good dogfighting airframes. It doesn’t have a large carrying capacity (6x missiles is already not great at 13.7). The BVR missile it does get is definitely somewhere in the top 3 for worst top tier fox3 for ARB. The performance of the Python 4 is best in class yes, but as seen in my previous post with graphs, it’s not that crazy.
The missile is balanced by the deficiencies of the airframe it’s carried on. And I remind you… Fox-3 meta.
The F-15I is equivalent to the F-15E. So that’s not missing for Israel.
The SPAMRAAM tactic for the F/A-18 is nullified by the fact it’s on the F/A-18. It’s not seriously viable unless you’re in a bad situation (which usually happens because the Hornet is so slow).
It’s roughly in the same boat as the F-16C (obviously the SUFA struggles more due to weight). Again, I’m all for the SUFA going down to 13.7 and getting 120Bs (it can keep the 120Cs too). But this has no bearing on whether it needs Python-4s or not.
This is the only way this can play out, if they ever add the Python 4 before the next gen missiles make it irrelevant.
5th gen fighters are planned for “second half of 2026” (let’s be real we all know it’ll be the massive December patch). We’re approaching the end of 2025 and they’re planning on adding more and more 4++ Gen fighters. There’s no way they continue adding these fighters with ancient missiles and leave it until 5th gens to add new IRs. They’ll likely all come in the first 1-2 patches of 2026, because we also need to see a next generation of fox3s to come with or before 5th gens. (Or maybe they’ll pull a F16C Block 50 and bring them to the game with Sparrows).
I will clarify that they meant 5th gen fighters, not next-gen IR missiles.
But yeah I would very much expect next-gen IR missiles to come very soon (although it’s iffy on whether they come by the end of 2025). The question is simply whether the Python-4 will come before that or alongside the Python-5.
Thay make p4 looks like irist slm on a plane its funny and sad at the same time
I fear there is another reasons why they dont want israel to get something good iykyk
