JAS39A is quite popular in 13.0 and its better than F-2A ADTW in general.
Both has detailed NCTR capable radar while Gripen has tons of countermeasures, HMD and better dogfight/flight performance overall.
Its straight line speed allows to catch many plane on its br while its agility allows it to beat most sustain fighters in quick session.
Not to mention skyflashes are much better in close range and overall missile kit is more deadly due its HMD.
Only real advantage F-2 has over Gripen is the AESA radar’s refresh rate.
A radar you can’t take advantage of with the garbage armament on the aircraft.
F-2 is actually the better dogfighter, the gripen is just easier to use in this scenario

Good FOX2’s aren’t an excuse to give the aircraft dogshit missiles for 13.0 battle rating
it’s 13.0 not 11.7 nothing happens in close range
F-2 excels in sustain rate while Gripen is better in initial turn and has similiar sustain rate, so no.
AAM-3 are slightly better than Aim-9M in terms of practical range, not to mention lacking HMD limits their off bore shots capabilities a lot.
So yeah in practice Aim-9M on Gripen is better than AAM-3 on F-2.

Radar is mostly there for awareness and survivability rather than bein opressive and dangerous in F2 ADTW.

Tbh lacking Fox-3 on ADTW doesnt bother me at all, if only had HMD it would’ve been much easier to utilize its radar capabilities.
You’re not going to do shit against a JA37D at 13.0 battle, nor will you even put a dent against an AV-8B+ it isn’t 11.7 nothing happens in close range they’ll take you out before you get a chance.
problem isn’t lacking a FOX3 if they give it AIM-7P’s it would simply make it a better aircraft.
The FOX3 argument was made if we wanted to put it at 13.7 like the TT variant.
As it is it’s a very unpleasant and horrible aircraft to play with. I absolutely despise grinding with this thing.
Tbh Viggen is trash in terms of avionics, it has pre historic Rwr and even worse radar than 13.0 flankers and doesnt even have irccm missiles.
If you know how to survive against Fox-3’s effectively you can easily beat Viggen.

We dont know if the radar is capable of guiding Aim-7P’s which is the main issue.
If someone can confirm that radar can guide it then it should be no problem to bug report and ask Gaijin to add it.
all those two aircraft have going for them is 4 amraams. They’re not even good Fox-3s.
If you know how to notch they’re free food
Multipathing is broken in this game, I do not care what FOX3 or FOX1 can do your missile can’t hit me while I’m auto spamming counter measures under 30 meters when it comes to notching I am great at it but the issue is you can’t really notch on the ground due to how uneven the terrain is in most of the maps.
if the J/APG-2 can guide an AAM-4 then so it can guide an AIM-7P.
