So I think we can sadly assume 7P cant be used as theres little to no reason for japan to integrate weapon their never use into their datalink, correct?

7M’s can’t be used either it’s a mockup from 2013.
pretty sure uplinking to your launched missile is less of a datalink standard problem and more of a radar > missile communication problem

Those advertised bein fully compatible and tested, still point stands.
It’s not, AIM-7M is the initial main service missile and there is official sources past the AMC upgrade that show the capability was never lost.

This image is for the mockup of “ADTW” in the early 2000’s the “ADTW” in the game is a mockup from 2013 with the J/APG-2 radar instead of the J/APG-1 in the one in early 2000’s.

The ADTW in game is F-2A 63-8502 used by ADTW, also not a mockup. It was converted from prototype XF-2A 63-0002 to F-2A production standard and is now used as ADTW test aircraft.

The version we have in game specifically is after the rename to 63-8502 and the ~2013 AMC OFP upgrade, which gave it J/APG-2 radar, JDAM integration, and J/ARG-1. This means that it is compatible with AAM-4, but this is not the reason they chose this variant. Instead they wanted a premium version armed with AIM-7M, but also JDAM. Since the AIM-7 capability was never lost this can realistically be done by just excluding AAM-4 from the aircraft.

And again, before this upgrade, over 10 years of active service F-2s, there was no AAM-4 capability. In this time AIM-7M was the main service missile. It’s not “only a mockup”, just because the XF-2 was displayed with mockup AIM-7 once or used non-functional test missiles, when service aircraft used AIM-7M for years.

The data link on the AIM-7P really does the job – how many times has it managed to redirect the missile at someone else when the first target was destroyed before the missile reached it, or to thwart someone’s notching? Ah, what a lovely thought that the ADTW might get these missiles – just a pipe dream :)
it’s not the easiest fighter to handle at 13.0, but I’m afraid that on 12.7 it would be too powerful with the phenomenal AAM-3, the AESA radar and powerfull airframe.

This is the whole reason why F-2 struggles with current mm.
When it gets downtiered it rules the battlefield, when it uptiers it struggles to fight against Fox-3 carriers.
If only those 13.3-13.7’s recieves br increase F-2 ADTW would become much more user friendly.

No it doesnt, there are few Fox-3 carriers with much worse flight performance and radar at 13.0 while other 13.0’s either has mediocre radar or missiles.
ADTW hold its ground at its br quite well.
It does not, it’s one of the best 13.0 aircraft in the game.
It stomps every 13.0 Fox-3 carrier and the only other real threat at 13.0 are the flankers.
Which can be dealt with thanks to the superior FM, awareness and defensive kit (Su-27 and J-11 are stuck with SPO-15, Su-33 only has 48cms)
Gripen is also a problem, but you rarely see it and the F-2 has superior radar, FM and missile kit anyways.
Any other 13.0 plane just gets stomped as well
MiG-29 vs F-2 is coughing baby vs thermonuclear bomb.
It can even win fights against a one or two 13.3 Fox-3 carriers. (MiG-29 and JF-17 for example)
