This is honestly so pathetic, man. They shut down the report with “doesn’t say anything about LDIRCM resistance” Not even trying to reason the fact that Spike LR2/Eurospike uses a EO “day” channel for guidance and that it is fiber optic guided. Like dude. They even made a deal about how TV guided missiles aren’t affected by it in a video in the WT YouTube channel.

ykw this reminds me of…
@MythicPi 's Kh-38 thread
all that knowledge and research, simply ignored
Very well-done post, as someone who knows close to nothing about actual missile seeker functions this explains the situation very well
You’re looking for this one.
For reference the AH-64E’s laser is a QCL and allows composite projection so there is the possibility of it damaging the seeker’s coatings. Though I doubt it has the power output.
I’m not aware of how the other LDIRCMs work.
It took a 1500W laser to pop the silicon window

From January 16 to current day. Whole 2025 year stat.
Use smarter gameplay obviously. You said skill level is too low for helicopter, not me. However, the general statistics rather suggest the opposite. Even before the introduction of new spaa, most helicopters were inefficient relative to their cost. Most people couldn’t handle helicopter gameplay at all.
So if you deflect 3 missiles you’re eating the 4th one with your forehead and dying.
SLM has 32 missiles which makes it able to kill 8 Z-10s or around 10 64Es.
That’s really damn potent for a 70 SP system that’s braindead easy to play and requires extremely low amount of player input. I hope you see why Gaijin isn’t implementing stuff that you’re asking for.
So it’s better to make the helicopters too powerful, i see…
I don’t know why you all always use SLM as an example. CS/SA5 etc. have the same problem.
Okay lowkey, he aint wrong lmao.
this was after prolonged exposure where the window was already at a pretty high temperature

as it says here, film damage begun at 500 degrees celcius
to reach that temperature u need a decent amount of time. something LDIRCMs dont have even if they had the power to do that damage
conclusion

Yeah also the Mi-28/Apache/Z-10 can spam their volley of missiles at a SLM battery and kill it, since the SLM radar can only guide 4 missiles at a time, so the SLM player has to choose between killing the helicopter or intercepting the missiles that are about to kill it. I’d say that’s not just “brainless” gameplay. You have to choose.
Anyway, I don’t wanna talk about this anymore. I’d rather talk about the nitty-gritty technical aspects of the actual DLIRCM in real life.
I mean, honestly, even if they had the capability to damage the seeker. Wouldnt it be extremely hard for the ldircm to burn thru accurately in time as the missile approaches from weird vectors?
as i have already stated, i am not a great CAS player. this doesnt throw any shade on the topic of this thread.
i didnt even have a lineup for the Tiger until recently lmao. i doubt you forgot that i havent played it very much
again, statshaming. what a crook you are
smarter gameplay when a UHT needs to defend or attack an Mi-28NM/Z-10ME/AH-64E

yeah if you stick around in the open sky long enough like a fish deprived of oxygen
This is something to consider as well, even a powerful laser needs time to burn, not just through the outer glass dome of the optical seeker but the seeker itself would have to be heated up to 500°C + in a matter of milliseconds, meaning that in a real life practical scenario there is just no enough time to physically damage the seeker.
This post was flagged by the community and is temporarily hidden.
yes it would. targeting a mach jesus projectile’s seeker (which at distance is smaller than the smallest speck you can find rn) is much harder irl than in game
Even tho this argument is continuing, i dont think this ruins the thread in anyway. Maybe a forum moderation needs to take place but the first post is quite valid imo and has the most relevant information.
The bug report regarding the EO guidance of Spike needs to be looked by someone who is actually competent at their job, maybe pinging a community manager would help but I’m not sure really atp.
