Proof of LDIRCCM capability in IIR against Laser DIRCM

-You don’t get it comrade, in Russia, we use visible lasers to blind all seeker types or as we like to call it (лазерные бластеры) ))))
-So you have to be more specific about the DLIRCM wavelength capabilities next time ;)

Literally saying nonsense to dodge giving Spikes EO guidance lmao.

Btw there are SAMs in the game completely immune to LDIRCM, so idk what the hate is about.
Photocontrast for the win ig

no one brings photocontrast missiles to top tier these days

No more than that, it’s an ahistoric implementation of the sentinel radar and CLAWs system
In game it’s listed as the AN/MPQ-64 sentinel, not the improved, not anything else not even the A4 AESA version.
It shouldn’t even be able to classify targets.
The CLAWS never had AIM-9X’s. The marine’s CLAWS program ended and then the SLAMRAAM program started with the army.

In game the sentinel ghosts like crazy, the AIM-120C7’s have clipped wings so WVR performance is laughable and most pilots know how to defeat them.
Updating once every second as opposed to once every 2 seconds won’t change that.

Japanese tansam…
CS/SA-5…

Well ahistorical implmentation makes both CLAWS and SLM suffer…

both being extremely mid and rarely used

I’m still baffled by their response regarding EO guidance on Spikes, it just makes no sense. It is already established that TV/EO guidance is unaffected by DLIRCM. Why would a BRM say that “DLRICM blocks can also emit light in visible spectrum” and then shut down the topic?

Do they not know that in-game TV guided missiles are unaffected by them? That statement alone makes no sense whatsoever. Visible light spectrum lasers take tens of Kilowatts of power to do damage, and it’s literally labeled in the brochure of the President-S IRCM, it can only intercept infrared homing missiles. 🤦🤦

Gotta love how the reports are immediately closed aswell, forcing you to either re-do them or contact another tech-mod or even escalate to a CM because of misunderstandings that could be resolved with a singular comment…

Fr. Spikes would be a great way to counter IRCM helis. It’s a slow moving missile and wouldn’t be as powerful as a SAM, you have so much time to react or dip into cover.

Sadly they’re only capable upto 5km and have low energy.
Not to mention ammunition is restricted on stuff like puma

Still works great, before the update, it was my go to missile for dealing with helicopters. Helipads are almost always in range of Spikes.

It’s because that’s their job.

Well you know how sensor can be damaged and why report is invalid.

Well except LIDAR, works in the near-infrared band, and it can be damaging cameras due to the short pulses of focused infrared light, pulse lasers (like the ones found on LIDAR) can be far more powerful and damaging due to the short pulses of high energy that they can achieve, but LDIRCM blocks work in the broader infrared spectrum in a continuous beam which reduces the amount of power they can sustain.

So they don’t have the same damaging effects as LIDAR, because one is a high energy pulse laser vs a continuous sustained beam, also the DLIRCM block would have to focus its energy directly on the seeker, and it has to do that with insane precision in the milliseconds it has to react to cause any real damage to focal plane array.

So ur saying that my argument is invalid because some different technology can damage some other dofferent technology by using some different amplitude and frequencies?

Thats like saying water is poisonous because hydrogen peroxide is poisonous

Why are people so hell bent on keeping their OP invincible heli spam alive.
Smh

I think they were just ignorant of how LIDAR vs LDRICM works, one is a pulse laser (used for ranging and 3D mapping), the other a continuous laser. Both are lasers, but operate differently.

For human maybe but for electronic device it’s not that impossible.

All im saying is your arguments in report is undirect nothing is stating that Spike can’t be defeated by LDIRCM.

Poison is determined by dosage so yes water can be poison.

The thing that they dont understand is how a phone camera sensor is different from a mulitary grade, military use cooled or uncooled infra-red imaging seeker.
The technology gap is massive.

So i guess TV seekers are “Nothing”
What a logic. Man…

A sensor LITERALLY UNABLE to operate in the IR spectrum SHOULD be decoyed by IR decoy systems right?
Logic not logiking

Yeah and dosage determines damage as well.
And there aint enough dosage of LDIRCM to damage iir seekers.

Also where is the proof that LDIRCM CAN defeat IIR missiles such as Spike, IRIST and Aim9X SPECIFICALLY.

It may have potential to decoy IR missiles.
But where is the list that PROVES that LDIRCM can decoy the above 3 missiles.
