Tbf iirc that backlash was rather minor in comparison to the free fpe and parts/“why not give everyone a free abrahams tank” stream.

I would love to see a free F 14D when you purchase 100 € wort of GE. Would be great deal for an extra … 20 €.

And then there are a lot of other problems (deeper strategic problems)that can’t just be solved by a patch, some of them years old that are still around and are just pulling down the overall mood

Yeah you have some who will use this to justify their purchase. But I am more entailed to believe they already bought it like a good drone and now are using this table scrap as proof of Gaijin’s generosity.

We should start with the most important parts now that I think about it.

The issue with the phoenixes getting a maneuverability buff isn’t the reliability of the sources. There are plenty of adequate sources. The issue is that it requires dual plane performance, which gaijin is yet to model BTT. So even though it’s known that the missile’s turning performance is lacking, it can’t be buffed via bug reports until such a time the developers choose to implement said feature or equivalent.
Same for the mark 47 instead of the mark 60 motor being used. That was an intentional choice by the developers, and as such it can’t be reported for higher thrust.
The only thing that’s missing from the phoenix that would be somewhat reportable to my knowledge, would be marginal increases to the warhead and to it’s lofting program. As I do recall there being some information towards them being wrong in game, but I haven’t followed the information on that enough to know if people have enough that’s adequate for a bug report.
The developers making these choices are making them so very poorly…
So instead of giving them an artificial buff until we can model them accuratly we are just going to Nerf them into the ground until it gets modeled at some point?

I also very much want BTT equipped missiles to get improved (I have several bug reports regarding another BTT missile, the AAM-3); but it does seems gaijin is just waiting for a proper implementation, yeah.
My main question, is who at Gaijin is making these decisions, and who are they making them for. On one hand, you have the very plain and simple “You asked for the F14D, so we’re adding the F14D”. And on the other:
The key words are… “…no current plans…”…
Always a possibility at a later date… at times you will find a Premium version of something and at some point later there can be a TT version… it has happened before… so, just have to wait and see

But why not just work on it right now and get it out the way clearly the people want their to be two f14D in the tech tree
After three years, USS Salem has yet to be added as a tech tree version of premium ship Des Moines and event ship Newport News before it…
So hopefully a tech tree F-14D with its real armament doesn’t take as long, though given both would be fairly easy to implement I’m not very confident in whoever’s in charge of deciding what vehicles to add :/
I’m working on a suggestion/project for more Skyraiders. Just waiting on a few FOIA’s to come back before proceeding further. Should be an end all be all for them. I’ve got over 30 primary sources rn lined up with page numbers listed for each part and source and I’ve got more stuff on the way. Overkill is best kill :D
Edit: I wanna do a similar thing for the Dragonfly and a few other aircraft. Just takes a lot of time. Thankfully I can use this kind of thing for my dissertation worst case scenario.

I can tolerate the premium price as it can be solved with money, but I at least want a complete F-14D, not an unfinished product. It doesn’t matter if it’s more powerful than the tech tree, even if it’s 13.3.
The problem is they eat their words from mid to end of last year’s Dev Q&A, where they said they will not have a premium be the best version in game. Already are but they are trying to pretend they are not.
Making the final model of something a premium is probably the most foolish thing they could have done and they thought just making the armaments par of the B wouldn’t be an issue.
