Pre-2022 Ukraine's Addition to the USSR

Ukraine’s Addition to the USSR
Hello again, this is a discussion about Post-1991 Ukraine potentially being added to the Soviet tech tree.

Before we begin I do want to start out by saying this is just a idea on what the tree could look like if it were added this update.
I do believe Ukraine is the best fit for the USSR as it already has many Ukrainian SSR vehicles in the tree.
Gaijin seems to inching ever so slightly towards a Czechoslovakian sub tree, instead of that we add this?

This is a quick tech tree I put together to give a visual of what it could potentially look like.
I left out western gear and kept it domestic, I’m not for or against them being added, I’m leaving that totally up to Gaijin.

This is something I agree on, instead of a whole new tech tree with majority of the vehicles being mechanical modification, something that most of the time doesn’t affect the vehicle performance in-game and its general performance but may be adding something here and there, those could be easily implemented as unique vehicles with actually new content.

Because good golly, the T-72-120 looks so cool and I’m not in position to research a whole new tech-tree which will likely be filled with copy and pasted content from USSR mainly and locking the good content behind something I already own and others may do own aswell.

I’d believe that, to satisfy everyone, Western technology used by Ukraine, it reads post-2022, could be easily implemented in their respective nations with cosmetic or real modifications (e.g. Leopard 2A4V and M1A1SA) which in my opinion is a short way to quickly implement Ukraine into the game. There are no major examples of this currently except Finland with the KV-1B in the Germany tech-tree being separated of the major one in Swedish tech-tree.

I know a few individuals who share your sentiment, as do I.

SA event vehicle on Germany also? Concept 3 i think was the name wait not concept, idr the name but its a south african vehicle on Germany

Edit: class 3p

ignoring all the political stuff, Russia doesn’t need a ground subtree because most if not all of the gaps in their tree can be filled with domestic vehicles. most vehicles in this subtree concept can be replaced with Russian Prototypes (obj 219M instead of BM Oplot OR T-72 B2 Rogatka instead of T72 - 120). I think it would be better to make a new POL/UKR tree with a few other former Warsaw pact nations sprinkled in to reduce copy paste and fill gaps in lineups.

Yes, the TH-800 Class 3 (P) ‘Goliath’ is another example, in the case I mentioned of splitting vehicles used by Ukraine into their respective nations will be the same case but in much more larger scale. Being a Marketplace vehicle, it’s, at the moment certainly impossible that will be moved to Britain whatsoever a copy of the vehicle. It hold some monetary value, I think that’s the reason because the M4A5 Ram II is a Premium vehicle and it’s on two different tech-trees, being a Golden Eagle vehicle it doesn’t interfer directly to the Marketplace “economy”.

Still screws over an entire subnation as vital vehicles can essentially dissappear. Finland has to bring 4.0 tanks to 4.7 which means in a full uptier you’re using 4.0’s against 5.7’s but im going off topic, id like to see Ukranian vehicles but given tensions id rather not see them if it means them going to Russia. I have no interest in arguing politics its far easier to simply avoid them altogether

It’s not about them going to “Russia”, I personally don’t even see the tree as “Russian” it’s mixture of ethnic groups and much of the ground tree is Kharkiv plant and Ukraine being separate would be confusing, but perhaps the sub tree rework could be applied to the USSR, Ukraine and Russia.
And nobody has to argue politics because this a video game, it’s about tanks, airplanes and ships.

I disagree there are so many unique vehicles that could be added with a separate east european tech tree based on poland and ukraine

Poland should get Czechoslovakia, it doesn’t need anyone else as it would have a lot already, arguably larger than the USSR as far is it is now.

Its called the USSR tech tree. both Ukraine and Russia were once part of the USSR. so therefore Ukraine should go in the USSR tech tree.

I dont think this could work because the tech tree would be too big, similiar to a British commonwealth situation.

(Whilst Ukraine wouldnt be too big of an addition, other CIS contries would probably need to follow)

I think best option for something like this is a CIS tech tree seperately similiar to a commonwealth TT

Isn’t the commonwealth tech tree basically just Great Britain

Yes and no. Commonwealth TT isn’t fully implemented because it would be way too big.

Many people want commonwealth countries to be in one seperate tech tree, this could include Austrialia, Canada, India (possibly), and others.

One reason is the tech tree would be just way too big for all commonwealth vehicles in one, another is the tech tree could be too OP and would just be a conglomeration of literally all vehicles. Also there is the part that some post colonial countries dont want their vehicles under Britain

If this were the case then Gaijin choosing India as a sub tree is weird because those vehicles have nowhere to go unless they stick them into the same line as South Africa, Gaijin is also adamant about India being a sub tree and that they will receive more Indian vehicles.
For Ukraine and Soviets you don’t need anymore lines because they already fit in the technology tree as seen in my visual, doesn’t add a whole lot.

The point is that those vehicles would go in a seperate tech tree. Also I dont think you understand that there is a lot more vehicles, much more than enough for just a tech tree.

Same with Ukraine and other post Soviet countries, there is a lot more vehicles they have upgraded or made since 1991, much more than a few T-72s and T-80s for a small subtree

You could say the same for the Russians but we don’t see a lot of vehicles because they skipped them for the major ones, I’d assume it would be the same way with Ukraine.

I fully support it, as a former member of the Soviet republics it mostly uses Soviet vehicles with few modifications, and it should come to the USSR +1

yeah so why not add the russian vehicles before the ukrainian ones
