a thorough mission kill should be sufficient, since there are NO crew to repair it. or they could just have it not die unless you ammo rack or something, and make it so you cannot repair unless at a cap
Only having 2 shots before having to place an ammo box and sit still to reload would be absolutely awful, no amount of mobility would make up for that. Even if it can get into good positions quickly and get easy kills it can only get 2 at most before running away
repairs at a capture im fine with as manned vehicles without parts can. would need to have specific clauses for a “kill” such as if tracks/trans/engine and the gun were disabled at the same time
maybe if there are comms equipment/the critical power systems? (remember, no manual backups)
but yeah all the stuff you said could work too
theres space in that hull for an extra set of missiles where the ammunition stowage is for the gunned variant
That’s what I was thinking. If the mobility AND firepower are both destroyed and you’re outside a cap point and there’s no teammates around to repair, then you get booted.
idk, maybe they could have it be power systems, comms, and ammo racks that can kill it. there should be opportunity to wait for a friend to come rescue you
I doubt the ammo rack would result in a kill, however electronics as stand-ins for crewmembers would make sense.
That turret is smaller and shorter than the autocannon turret, the turret crew would have to sit lower taking up that autocannon ammo space.
maybe there could be a modification for a soldier with Javelin and maybe .50 cal, so you can repair self but lose the conventional turret
There’s also a few actually in-service vehicles that would fit well around 8.7
M551A1 TTS:
Adds thermals, LRF, and MGM-51C
M60A3 (P):
Basic M60A3 model without TTS, ERA, or M774, basically trading RISE’s ERA for LRF
LAV-25:
Armoured car with a Bushmaster. Kinda a bigger, slower RCV but with thermals. There are also later upgrades.
LAV-AT:
LAV-25 but with M901 turret. Bigger, faster M901 with more ammo. There are also later upgrades.
M2A1 Bradley:
First upgrade of the IFV Bradley, gets access to BGM-71D TOW-2. But it only has about half as much ammo because of troops. There are also later upgrades.
looks more like its either a one man turret (commander is also gunner) or comically cramped from photos I can find of the rustpile that’s left, you can shove at least two more in there easy.
@Pangolin_Fan the Ripsaw MS2 or MS3 could also work well as a lower BR version. it would be an interesting alternative to scout drones for later US IFV’s and maybe even battle tanks as well
Sure there might be space for a few missile but the gunner would basically be sitting on them and I doubt there’s an actual rack. Nevermind the fact that they would barely fit through the hatches. Even if it was possible, thats still only 4 missiles
almost like this is a testbed of a potential light gun tank with a missile turret. like the MILAN fox, and its not uncommon for small vehicles to have crew pretty much sitting on ammunition, even on mbts like challenger the loaders seat is pretty much just a charge bin.
For reference the MILAN fox was able to carry an additional 4 missiles and that’s a smaller vehicle
MS2 Ripsaw also used Javelin turret. seems like future is bright for light US ATGM vehicles
Exactly, so its unreasonable to say that it should be at 9.3
you missed my point
in relation to only TOW or more likely I TOW
as for BR placement
9.0 makes more sense.
fair argument. a whole BR higher than the m901 sounds more righteous of a placing to me considering its superior mobility and versatility.
