Possibly moving down the A6M2

,

Alrighty let’s start this rant shall we. The problem with the zero is speed even the 3.0 spitfire can outspeed it. On top of that, the P51 with 20mms is at the same br, and the la5fn is 3.7. The best solution would be moving it down to 3.3 where it could fare well and not face BF109G6’s.

Seems reasonable enough

frankly most of the Zeros should go down by at least 0.3, with some of them needing to go down by 0.7. (A6M3 Mod 22 Ko)

but until people stop turning with them in their bf109s, I’m not holding my breath.

IMO the issue is much greater on the later Zeros, but this wouldn’t be a bad change. At 3.3 it would be a very dangerous opponent.

Zero will not go down, until everyone will stop try to outturn it.

It won’t. Live practically every turn fighter in game they over perform in kills. People are too keen to dogfight and then speed doesn’t matter anymore.

I just got the A6M2 and holy fuck is it slow. Yes it can dogfight anything and win, but how does that matter if you cannot catch anybody? Any kills I got were from complete idiots who basically handed themselves to me. All they had to do was run.

Well, you see. That’s never going to happen.

Therefore Zeros will always have a higher BR than planes that they can not realisticially fight.

And with realistically I mean practically, because in reality they can still fight them because of the lack of skill of players in superior planes.

There’s also another reason: 1 vs. 1 performance isn’t really applicable in a team made up of several different aircraft.

It’s much more difficult fighting a P-47 and a Zero then it is fighting two P-47.

It’s easy to abuse one planes weakness but it’s very difficult to fight enemies which have basically asymetrical performance.

P-51s and some other planes can best use their strenghts when they are flown in a squad, since this greatly increases the ability to attack while staying untouchable.

You might outclimb or outspeed a Zero, but you can never attack it, if there are other planes with similiar performance as your own.

Of course one player can butcher a team of Zeros but if the teams are heterogeneous, which they tend to be nowadays, you can not really attack them or others without leaving you open to either being outturned by Zeros or get caught by planes with more energy.

It’s probably good that teams are now made up of very different planes (or tanks), since that means that one team can not easily beaten by one strategy.
