[POLL] Revert back the maps change to original for RB/SB

One thing Gaijin did say was that they were looking at heat maps for activity on the maps. I suspect that what they’re doing is identifying any position from where a large number of targets are destroyed. They are then nerfing those to eliminate any “power” positions.

Map preference is entirely subjective so it would seem that they think the safest route is to remove any character or points of interest from maps. The unfortunate consequence is that the maps are now becoming homogenised and bland.

Pretty much what they’re doing yeah. Bit of a shame they don’t make those heatmaps available. I’ve thought about trying to figure out the replay file format so I can make my own (used to do it for World of Tanks) but haven’t had much luck with it.

I am from Russian forum, >80% are against.

These revised maps are fkn horrible. Time to allow players the option to ban more maps. Just quit out when these maps come up. I can deal with the crew lock and play another nation.

Also if I can choose to play or not play night maps then give us players the ability to choose to play large maps rather than small maps.

Bei den meisten aktuellen Kartenänderungen handelt es sich um kleinere Geländeanpassungen, um das Töten von Spawns zu verhindern und große, flache Ebenen ohne Geländeunterschiede zu reduzieren. Das sind gute Veränderungen.

Dem stimme ich zwar zu, aber nicht durch die Verkleinerung der Karte. Stattdessen sollten diese Bereiche einfach topografisch abgeändert werde. So wie es jetzt ist, ist es einfach eine Zumutung. Hallo? Selbst Sim City konnte das schon.

They probably made a heatmap of where players go on maps and realised 95% just hammer W to the closest point and that is it. So no need to have all those sides open for “spawn campers” (aka people actually playing the game outside of yolo bang bang on one cap over and over).

Whenever I have complained about maps growing smaller and smaller (I am aware of the irony in the wording here), I have been told that this is what the majority of the community wants: short queue time, enemy visible shortly after spawning, shooting like in a shooting gallery, eventually die, repeat…pretty dull if you ask me…

This also amplifies the potency of CAS, since more targets are forced into a smaller space. ^^

80% of both teams on Advance to the Rhine sat in the alley to left of A, not capping A, just street fighting because “You Tube Did It” while ignoring B and C apart from the 1-2 players a side with a brain. And why would you NOT be tempted to throw a bomb on all those clueless players (which is odd since many level 100s, almost any BR)? And they don;t learn from it and just respawn and go back up the same alley. There is a fine line between “playing for fun” and “slowly reducing the game to plankton levels”. I spent years not liking it when a player/s from my team sat on my ass, but now this is apparently the go to method of play and the threat of CAS or Arti (or a rapid fire enemy who flanked the entire enemy squad and precedes to shoot them all up the butt; God I loved my AEC II at high BRs) is to be complained about and no lesson is to be learnt anymore… sigh.

I gathered this from the players I experience maps with (randoms not squadded), not the queue times but the rest wanting that very very quick fix but also in the most boring way possible too.

According to Gaijin small maps are more popular and they have access to the data from the “map filter”, which is basically nothing more than a poll.

Of course small maps are more popular, when half the team quit after one death on big maps the match is nearly lost.

The problem is not only the map size, it’s also the one death leavers and the players which aren’t willing to learn to flank and other stuff, only rush straight to enemy and die…

You can do that on some tanks but not light tank when it “not supposed to get hit” for example CV90120 it has x24 commander sight with 3gen thermal and LWS what those system for if map are just get smaller every update? Gaijin really don’t know how to make realistic tank battle map instead of turn into stupid CoD for kids

Agree change the maps back to original. It’s obvious the devs have decided to stop long distance shooting and give no opportunity to sniping. Why?

And getting rid of all sniping spots and drastically changing the maps to suit those players needs has only had the opposite affect. A more balanced approach with matchmaker including both close quarters maps and long distance maps with sniping spots that aren’t deleted from the map… Like they get rid of every hidy hole, every hill gets replaced with rock barriers, vantage points get blocked by ugly boulders… We don’t all like driving in careless and dying

Second to that a lot of map changes recently have opened up spawn to spawn sniping from the start of the match. Surely this is not the intended purpose of map changes…
