I was thinking about the German Air tech tree and the possibility of adding a new sub-tree.
My idea would be a Polish sub-tree following the Su-22M4, especially since the Polish Air Force has only recently retired the aircraft.
What could this bring to the German tech tree?
It could introduce aircraft such as the F-16 and the FA-50GF/KAI FA-50. In the future, if the Polish Air Force decides to purchase the F-15EX, that could also become a possibility once 5th-generation aircraft are added to the game.
I believe this could expand the German Air tech tree with more modern and unique aircraft while having some Historical accuracy since Germany/ Prussia once Occupied the Polish territory.
Germany already has Switzerland and if they get another it would probably be Austria.
Poland would make a far better standalone tree, either as a home for other unrepresented WARSAW pact nations or as part of a WARSAW pact TT under another nation, in a similar way that Sweden is the “Scandanvia” tree with Finland, Denmark and Norway.
Not only did Germany not need a sub-tree, but it already has one; it doesn’t need two(not with the tree already being made of 5+ nations). Poland can and should work as its own tree (at worst with Czechoslovakia).
Plus, like the BeNeLux, allied nations should never be sub-trees to the leader of the Axis.
This is one of the most disgusting justifications I’ve seen for a subtree proposal.
Your argument basically boils down to: “Germany occupied Poland, therefore Polish aircraft should go to Germany.” Do you understand how insane that sounds?
Germany and Prussia occupying Polish lands was not some harmless historical connection, it involved partitions, suppression of Polish language and culture, and centuries of attempts to erase Polish identity.
Using that history as a justification to shove Polish vehicles into Germany is beyond tone-deaf.
If you want to argue Germany needs aircraft, fine. Argue gameplay, BR gaps, balance, export ties, joint development, anything. But trying to use the history of occupation and cultural suppression as your “historical accuracy” argument is genuinely revolting.
