Yeah, lack of armor isn’t what’s keeping it at 11.0, there are other drawbacks too. Gun handling is bad, with turret rotation and gun elevation being quite slow. Penetration is bad, the worst dart round at 11.0
Not saying it’s bad at 11.0, but it is not good enough for 11.3 and should remain in the balanced position it’s at.

No, “everyone” that uses the type 90 in a full down tier knows how OP it is MOST won’t deny that, a select few will complain and blatantly lie about its performance IN GAME, so they can keep cheesing overpowered tanks on a full downtier.

type 90 only has one thing going for it and its reload but the reload don’t matter if the you get killed one shot in which it can with most 10.3 tanks so just fire first
This isn’t solely about penetration dude. It is about reload rate. I’ve stated MANY times before I could care less about other nations tanks with lower BR that have high penetration as its countered with longer reloads so it evens out.

Anyways, DM23 and Leopard 2A4 in general, good enough to be playable at 11.7.
In the case of the vehicles with 4 second reloads, its just a matter of playing around it. Its not like the HSTV-L is unbeatable, and neither is the strv 103, cv90-105, or similar vehicles.
If your assessment of a vehicle is how you can deal with it in head on in an alleyway. Then the strv 103C should be unable to face 10.3.
Germany 10.3 specifically apperantly because apparently 10.3 of another nation is unable to experience the same pains of copy-pasted vehicles.
That penetration analysis is identical to the 105mm Abrams on the leo.
I just woke up and checked on this in the morning. It sounds like the issue now isn’t really the tanks, the frontal armor on Japanese tanks at 11.0 is not good at all, I play the Swedish T-80U most of the time, it doesn’t get the better sabot round, just the stock sabot of the Russian one. No mango, barely any penetration, at 11.0 standard, I never have an issue with jap tanks. The pen is on par with others and with a 5.2-5.6 second reload, it outclasses most in this area. I don’t know what nation you main. But it most likely has a better or average sabot than this around that BR. I don’t understand the issue with pen, but yes, keeping a distance with low armor tanks is key if that’s the issue, if it’s a MBT with decent speed, CQB is probably your best bet. Oh, and looking at the Abram’s penetration indicator, that is mostly wrong, the mantlet and turret ring is correct, but don’t shoot the upper glacis if your not at a higher angle than the Abram’s, and mostly, head on you want to aim as high for the lower glacis as possible. Higher on it you go, the higher chance you have of taking out turret crew.
Are you seriously comparing DM23 penetration on the leopard and the type 90 to justify this thing being dropped down a full tier? You realize how much of a difference JM33 makes at 10.3 right?
I have never been so entertained like with this thread. This @X_GOD_OF_HATE_X guy is just on another level with tunnel vision. He got probably obliterated one match by someone more skilled with Type 90s and now has mental breakdown in forums.
Japanese 11.0 tanks are just glass cannon. It has firepower to deal with multiple enemies in quick session however barrel breach can be destroyed easily.
I was grinding Japanese tanks lately as I like autoloaders from frech tech tree and Type 90 was good tank if you do not get hit. Also MM is not very pleasant as you face 11.7 tanks most of times and JM33 is just not reliable there and you have to flank in order to be effective.

Have you ever tried DM23 at 11.7? Its fine actually. You need to aim, but thats not new to any vehicle.
No i get it. Germany should get preferential treatment because they have Germany on their team and unlike Sweden has to face Sweden. Therefore identical vehicles aren’t identical anymore.
Idk why judging lineups and teams bleed into specific vehicle judgement.
