Balance is one example, that is semi-historical at best. Historical matchmaking would be too unfair because some vehicles could only be threatened and destroyed by close air Support and crush everyone, so in most War Thunder matches you have vehicles fighting together and each other that are from completely different eras and did sometimes not even exist yet. But vehicles fighting other vehicles from the future is commonly accepted for playability. Yet this is just as made up as the removed vehicles.
Same with the lack of collision physics on all gun barrels, it does not work for the Game design.
Then we have all those annoying 3D Decorations that you cannot disable, you have to see the Christmas Gnomes and Dirtbikes on other players vehicles whether you like it or not.
Then there are multiple other vehicles that are pure alternative history and made up, like the Japanese F-16. This never happened, Japan did not receive the F-16, but the Devs just said that there is no other way and added it anyways.
Except it isnt, ww2 vehicles didnt stop being used after 1945, pt 76 were in service and fought alongside t34 or pz4. Historical matchmaking is at the end of the day a flawed system as tanks didnt fight on isolated period, also at the end of the day the accuracy of the models is a completely different matter outside of the matchmaking or the visual modifiatiosn.
They already said that they will remove them, just like they did with the r2yr2.
Which is a bad idea for the Game. Fake/Semi-historical vehicles like the R2Y2 or the Panther II are Copy Paste Proof unique national vehicles that add identity and flavor to the tech trees. Removing them and not adding anything else is more a Regression of the Game, even worse when existing vehicles are Copy Pasted as replacements. Players need to be interested by the unique options in each nation to pick up the Grind. Instead every Tech Tree is becoming more interchangeable now. Everyone gets a Leopard, an F-16, a Sherman. Why pick that Tech Tree over any other? It doesn’t matter, all have the same vehicles now, and those that stand out are on the chopping block or already gone.
They should remove all the duplicates and replace them with domestic vehicles, real or not.
because all tt offer things outside of the common vehicles, these “copy and paste” vehilces allows you to be able to make stronger line ups and at the end of the day they are vehicles that these armies used unlike the fake ones.
Thats your opinion, to me it was just simply a mistake from gaijing to added them to the game to begin with,
I don’t know, I rather have a selection of unique vehicles over a bunch of effective Copy Paste ones. Just because spreadsheets are efficient, doesn’t mean they are fun, so to speak.
If coelian goes to 8.7 then sure, tiger 105 isnt a needed improvement that changes it, panther 2 is just a mobile medium with a good gun that better than m46, and coelian is an xm246 at 7.0 but better
Existing in real life is not the same as existing in game, a made up vehicle designed by gaijin has no appeal to me, like i said i rather have a vehicle that was actually made, than fictional abominations.
The range finder was never part of the 105 proposal and the second loader does actually make a lot of sense, lf the tank had realistic ammo layout and not the one made up by Gaijin.
The second loader can hand over shells to the loader who has access to the breech and the propellant charges.
Except that one would be fake because the FlaK 44s were developed precisely because they wanted to mount two 37mm side by side into vehicles as the Zwillingsflak 43 with both guns stacked was simply not feasible for vehicles.
After it was discovered that the Flakpanzer 341 was supposed to have brand new guns, it was also found that, after the project was cancelled, they modified the Flak 43 to mount them side by side like the Gerät 341, creating the FlaK 44.
So if the guns were built, it’s not hard to imagine they would create an Ostwind II that mounted said guns.
Sure the loader would make sense, but looking at the diagram this is a heavily modified turret, the thing is with the turret in game the second loader is questionable at best.
Where i have said, that Warthunder is a simulation of the one and only realism ??? Maus, E 100 are never effective in battles… And the cry about “realism” ist once and only, if there is a vehicle, which already exists in the game… The community hasn´t said something while they was available… Then it was “realistic” enough. But now we have got american vehicles on this BR, but if the holy 3 will come back, then it is “Unrealistic” ? Explain me that!! For years it was realistic enough to play with Panther II, tiger 10,5cm and Coelian, but now it is unrealistic ??
I never said, that Germany never has used US-vehicles. But they are on the wrong place in the techtree…
The M48, M60 has been build years later. On BR 7.0 are the last years of WW2 simulated… You fight against t44, t44-100, t34-100… Fictional yes, but this tanks are invented by UDSSR self. Why we have got some american vehicles, when Germany could have invented own vehicles ?? Only the fact, that Panther II , Tiger II and Coelian are not real by 1:1, is very weak. We don´t know, what will happened, when Germany put another Gun/turret on the Tiger II. Or how panther II would looks like. Maybe they had found ways to realize the tank from the game. And Coelian is one of the most realistic vehicles of that 3.
