you must be smoking the same stuff 🐌 does
Yeah I don’t get why people still compared this game to COD when COD has had some of the best map design I’ve seen in games for a pretty good while. I guess their last experience with COD was Black Ops 1 and they somehow think it’s still like that.
you’re right I should compare War Thunder GB to CSGO. Just people chewing on corners and camping lines of sight down a street.
No offense, but if you really think that’s how CS is played, I’m guessing you’re not above 10K rating.
Same thing for War Thunder, the meta is certainly not sitting back and camping down a street the whole match.
That’s what happens every single match and that team loses as a result.
On maps like Advance to the Rhine and such, that IS the meta, what are you talking about? My whole point and 85% of voters in the poll, is that small maps like I mentioned shouldn’t exist in the “modern era”, because that’s the meta on those maps. If you tell me that’s not the meta on those maps, then you shouldn’t be talking about others ratings.
aformentioned poll
So Advance to the Rhine is all about getting to a powerposition quickly, getting a couple of kills, then pushing through openings and flanking what are usually lots of enemies on the western side, or (near) the opposing cap.
The fact that it isn’t an open map, and that it features a lot of cover means that you can often push up whilst remaining relatively safe.
No offense intended but over the years I’ve noticed a pattern, where the players who tell me the game’s meta is all about back line sniping have turned out to have poor winrates and very low impact/kills per match.
You’re sitting on negative K/D’s, low K/M ratios and negative winrates in the majority of vehicles you play. That’s usually the result of a player that’s too passive and isn’t sure about what the best powerpositions on various maps are, or when it’s appropriate to push objectives/flanks/etc.
I would recommend watching some of the best players such as Hazey, BPA_Jon, Cavenub, etc. and you’ll be surprised how the majority of their gameplay consists of pushing and powerpositions.
Yes but in order to fight to those “power positions” it’s a battle of internet connection & whoever shoots around the corner first before the other guy does. Like on the streets which lead each team to the A Cap (Statue). Please quote me saying we should be sniping on the back line of Adv To The Rhine. You’re starting to piss me off. Don’t twist my words. In order to have map control on that map, you have to chew on multiple street corners at distances of less than 500m so I don’t think I would consider that “back-line” sniping.
Spot on!! The developers are as small minded as most the community imo.
This is the third time in two games that my APFSDS shell either goes straight through a tank without producing any spall, or disintegrates on the side skirt of a Leopard 1, and that’s at barely 100 meters away… this kind of experience is getting annoying, is this your vision of realism? In fact, I’m starting to think you’re somehow rigging the games to make those with good stats win
Similarly, whenever there’s a close-range face-off between my tank and an opponent, and we fire simultaneously, even if I’ve clicked and even if my shot is visible and audible in the game, my shell—whether it’s APC, APHE, APFSDS, or HE—is simply SYSTEMATICALLY forgotten and deleted by the game. BY WHAT MYSTERY? FOR WHAT REASON? If it’s not an intention to make me lose?
Ping and server side gameplay.
Essentially, the server decides what happens in a match, your client just interprets what the server tells it is happening.
Your opponent fired first in reality, but it takes a while for that information to reach your client. Before that information reaches your client, you fired your shot, but in actuality it was already too late.
Funny how it’s always the easy explanation: “Oh, it’s just high ping.” I’ve got a great connection, and my ping is definitely not high. Are you seriously telling me I miraculously get the worst ping every single time? What an amazing coincidence…
My ping has been sub 30 and it it’s still happened to me.
You having low ping =/= Your opponent having low ping.
Yes, yes, we totally understand! Even when my ping is low, my opponent’s is somehow even lower… without fail. It just occurred again, with a mere 33 ping on the EU server. This consistency is astonishing…
So what you’re saying is I should play on the Asian servers (I’m in east US)
and that is not “back line sniping”. That’s like 250m on avg for that map for every intersection on the west side. How would one even effectively back line snip on that map unless they were getting spawn camped lmao. You are constantly in “levels” of cover on that map and whichever team moves forward the “best” wins usually. edit: maps like small poland have true “backline sniping” because you can shoot from spawn to spawn. Another bad map design for top tier. Little freedom in terms of cover to move out of spawn on the west side.
Small Poland is absolutely NOT good for top tier, but I’d prefer it over maps like Sweden and advance to the rhine.
