6.0 props fighting 7.0 jets are at a huge advantage.
They are using sturdy, tried WW2 tech, against the unreliable, fuel guzzling glorified lawn darts.
Props, while being so superior, can also try to ambush/strafe jets on the forward airfield.
I’ve been killed by Rolands in Ta-152H over the forward airfield.
I consider this the pinnacle of WW2 air combat, as Roland was as iconic to WW2 as KV-1 or Kalashnikov’s copy of Cobray Street Sweeper - the dreaded AKM-47 bolt action revolver.
But I’m kind of worried, as sometimes I manage to dodge the Roland quite easily at around 10km. And this is absolutely anticlimatic. My immersion is ruined.
I want every Roland encounter, no matter the range, to make me pull and yank my flying stick rapidly with both hands.
Lets properly recreate the great air battles of WW2 - 73 Easting and Tzushima! Lets increase its range, so it can hit props while they are taking off - just like George Washington predicted in his famous “I have a dream” speech.
Now, in all seriousness, who the hell thought we need 1977 SAM to defend the airfields housing WW2 props and mid to late 1940s jets?
