Please Balance the BV 238

The BV 238 in Air RB is currently pretty much unkillable. That all the bombers got more tanky, is nice. That some strike aircraft got too, is not so nice. That BVs are taking out entire lobbies around BR 3.7 - not so much. This plane should get its invulnerability tuned down somewhat. And/or moved up 5.0 where it can meet the Qing-6 which is about the comparable thing right now. Maybe higher.

The mindless grinding zombies won, just leave them be and return to hangar when only bombers are left, while they get their SL and RP for free.

If all else fails, become the missile.

I mean 5.0 is way to far. It’s max speed in level flight is like 350km/h lol

4.3 if it gets moved to rank 3 seems good

Or aim at the engines/cockpit. Or go kill ground targets yourself, you should bleed tickets much faster than they can

Aiming at engines doesnt matter. Planes will burn for 5 minutes and thats if you can start a fire. You have like a 5-10% chance of starting a fire with a 30mm burst currently

Tickets dont win games

If all there is left in the other team are a bunch of high flying bombers, tickets are a easy way to win.

Fun fact, there are plenty of situations where even if you kill literally every single ground target on the map and bomb every base you won’t end the game by tickets nor offset the tickets by enough to win on timer when the other side has more tickets than you still

The H8K2 was historically hard to shoot down and tanked many shots before crashing into the waters. BV is huge, so its expected to be tank like. It’s fine how it is, bomber disserve these moments after years of getting shot down with a few hits.

There are some broken maps, true, but for the most part, it is a valid strategy.

Those are certainly options you can take for the sake of win rate. I wrote my message without mentioning that I only play the game for the air-to-air experience, which ground pounding and whale hunting detract from. I should’ve considered other goals people may have.
In any case, if I see only bombers, I’ll just leave. May as well play a single player game if I’m forced to shoot bots for tickets (I also consider bombers as bot players, with the exception of a few very strong gunshippers).

Then I think it would be faster to suicide into their airfield AAA or try to go guns blazing into the bombers if they are close.

It’s crazy that the Death Stars are back. Gaijin must have a short memory. This already happened once before…

FUNships are love, FUNships are life.

Besides, you can just be the missile.

How about you just leave it be? It can’t turn the tide until you attack it. Wanted a free kill as usual? Nah

speed does not matter, they are basically unkillable and defended from every angle

Bombers (period) are very hard to destroy right now. In some cases this is a good change; however- there are some negatives to it and I think Gaijin could afford to scale it back a little bit (NOT A TON)

Yes, we have examples of some bombers being famously hard to destroy. That said, we need to remember that the examples we are presented are NOT exemplary of every aircraft ever to exist, even for that series.

Obviously the B-17 is the famous example of a plane that was impossible to kill. It earned the nickname Flying Fortress for a reason. We have photos and images of aircraft taking many, many hits and flying back. And. We need to recognize that the reason we have those photos and the data behind the image, 9/10 times, is because the photo was used as Propaganda to demonstrate the undefeatable allied fighting spirit and help increase morale on the home front. What we don’t see or have video of is the countless times where aircraft were destroyed instantaneously, utterly broken, or brought to a dark demise. This, again, is because of the need and success of video and photographic propaganda.

If we had true data on performance, I am sure we would see that while YES, the old bomber damage model was incredibly weak, this new one also overperforms incredibly and should be scaled back a bit.

Also, this is ONE bomber that we have a ton of information on simply because of how well produced and used it was. Things like the BV-238 may be way less strong because of what they needed to support, how they were built, the materials used, etc. etc.

So overall, this feels to be a bit overperforming, and could be scaled back a bit. Because the BV_238 simply shouldn’t be an unkillable death ship.

its name was given to it by a journalist before it ever saw combat because it had a lot of guns

It however wouldn’t have stuck if it wasn’t at least somewhat true. I understand the foundation of the name but often times foundations don’t stick if the opposite is true- think of planes like the Starfighter earning the nickname the Widow Maker because of their lack of success.

But also yeah, again, propaganda and all of that, what you said definitely helps my point out

Just use the Kh-59 or Kh-29 TV guided missile to destroy it. It still insta kills every bomber and against large targets such as the B-52 and BV238 it is very reliable.
