If the depots could actually be damaged by anything under a 1000kg bomb.
As far as I can tell they are nearly immune and their condition is 100% even after a bomb strike.
you mean the ARMs that either don’t track or get intercepted without fail?
they buffed AA, so they don’t have to reload, they see through terrain cause it’s controlled by the CDK AI, they can fire on the movie, fire multiple missiles at once and are impossible to avoid cause they have perfect tracking and, in the case of the roland, are invisible. but hey, at least they increased the rewardsm right? can’t get the rewards, but they’re better now.
all the mode needed was the buff to CAS, and a nerf to the AA, but they decided to kill the mode as a whole. i’ve never seen someone shill so hard for actual garbage.
If this is your opinion, you’re using them wrong.
I have very occasionally seen ARMs miss moving targets, presumably due to them being occluded from a direct LoS with the missile due to trees and such. But they’re generally pretty consistent.
If they’re being intercepted, that means you’re firing them at targets who are either clustered together, or are not currently engaging something else. If you simply wait for them to fire at you, fire your missile, and turn a 180, you will kill them 99% of the time.
They have never touched SPAA throughout this entire gamemode except to nerf it.
As of 2.55.1.36, they had an (admittedly ludicrously generous) limit to their ammo, and as of 2.55.1.47, they have a much more reasonable limit.
This is true, but it’s seemingly only an issue for the BUK site on the coast, as other systems correctly refuse to fire at players that they do not have LoS to.
Correct, and this is something I’d love to see corrected, but it’s also been true for the entire gamemode.
They only guide one missile at a time. They are able to instantly follow up once their missile is defeated/has hit a target, but as of 2.55.1.49 only with the remaining ammo they have access to.
Frankly, I prefer this. Engaging a SAM site as a plane should be scary, and it should involve careful tactics. And having them be present means that fighters don’t get universal control over the battlefield. It means that SEAD and CAS aircraft have a dedicated reason to exist in the gamemode.
Another bug I’d love to see fixed.
It needed the changes that it got alongside a nerf to SAMs and a buff to CAS. Without those changes, it was just the standard Air RB meta of brainless headon missile spam, only even more brainless as players no longer had to care if they were shot down, since they’ll just respawn.
It was so trivially easy to spawn the big nuke that the meta evolved to park several players up in low earth orbit the second the third escalation stage was hit, as odds were a couple of the enemy players would have already earned far more than the 5000 score required by just freefarming in PvP. They then had to sit there, earning no points, otherwise risk suddenly losing the game because an enemy mashed his face into the moshpit enough times to get the points he needed.
The gamemode is supposed to be a long term, strategic struggle, where you are rewarded for carefully taking out enemy SAM sites and airfields slowly over time.
It still needs tweaks. For the fighter side of the equation, I’d love to see them get rewarded both for escorting and guarding CAS/SEAD/Nuke carriers, but also get more rewards for shooting down enemy nuke carriers. With the current loadout of planes, it’s legitimately difficult to stop an enemy nuke plane from just burning right past you and nuking your airfield, particularly for US players who are stuck with the F-4E only.
I’m thinking they did it because if they had to stop everytime, people would just ignore ARMs and bring dumbfire rockets like Zunis on their F-4’s instead. Seeing as ARMs are one of the things being tested atm, less people using them would be bad.
If you’re using ARMs, them firing on the move is irrelevant to you, and honestly, its preferable, since if they stopped everytime they shot, they’d be a lot closer to depots and your munitions would be more likely to get shot down by the concentration of 4x AA’s instead of just 1.
They could have just used the Shilka and Gepard, which would be more balanced (and make more sense).
The Gepard and Shilkas were in convoys in the first day or 2 of the event and they were a nightmare. The Osa/FlaRak would open up on you at long range, you’d fire an ARM, then the Gepard/Shilka would shoot down your ARM and you’d die. They removed them because the Gepard/Shilka were too OP when in convoy. Also, seeing as the AI SPAA only lock you when they are about to fire, the ARMs dont work well against the Gepard/Shilka, since they’ll lock you at close range, making the ARM thing pointless.
Hopefully when they add this game mode, They would also add EW and ECM
What “realistic” spaa to strong that’s a new one for you
Plenty of time to sit in your cockpit, on the runway, drinking a coffee :P
AGM-88 seems to work pretty fine now, less than half being intercepted succesfully. Also the AI kills score buff really benefits the ground pounding players with many SP.
Well you could do
USA
Britain
Soviet/Chinese/Warsaw Pact, DDR
NATO - Sweden, France, Italy, Israel, West Germany
That doesn’t really answer my question of what vehicles every nation gets. Giving another nations vehicle to a nation doesn’t count
Depends of what vehicles you wanna be listed as examples
Nuke carriers
fighters
strikers and so on
Nuke carriers mainly small or at least SAED focused vehicles capable of weapons like AGM 88.
Britain is self explanatory -
Phantom, Harrier, Jaguar, Buccaneer, Tornado, Vulcan, Victor and Valiant - TSR2 please Gaijin.
France - Mirage 3, Etendard, Mirage 3E, Mirage 4 as the Nuke bomber.
Sweden - JA-37, AJ-37, SK-60
Italy - Tornado, F-104 (versions), G.91
West Germany - Tornado, Sea Hawk, F-104, Phantom
G.91
Israel - Mirage 3, Phantom - other aircraft could be added providing they are balanced.
East Germany - Soviet aircraft models
China - Same with added Chinese aircraft from the correct period.
Japan - F1, Phantom
Again with NATO nations you can combine multiple nations. To begin with you could use B-52 for NATO
And Tu-95 until further models are added.
Aj37 would be useless, it can’t carry any form of nukes
SK60 lacks weapons to actually handle OSA or any SPAA with missiles
JA37 has no use outside of attacker
JA-37 has a PD Radar, Skyflash missiles.
As for nuke carrier you could use the JA-37 it couod carry a nuke just wasnt certified.
JA-37 also can use AGM-65. It would be much better than the F-4E.
And as BR increase to higher tiers we can bring in the JAS-39.
You have docs on the Viggen being capable of carrying and dropping nukes, cause I’ve never seen it.
Also same deal with the JA37 I don’t believe it can mount AGM65A
You’re better off putting Danish F104 and F100F here rather than swedish vehicles
RB-75 is the AGM-65 variant
SAAB had been working on nuclear compatability.
The Viggens excelled at low level and India wanted to purchase JA-37 before USA blocked it (engine is American)
Several JA-37 were fitted with upgraded targetting equipment prioritising Toss bombing.
Like the Polaris agreement, no reason why Reagan would not send some B61 to Sweden.
So while it never operated with Nuclear weapons the Viggen was certainly being considered for the role.
