Please add the new "Nuclear Thunder" mode as a permanent addition for all nations

No, because it was happening even before the reloading mechanic was added. It’s really rather confounding.

What a good way to ask to get intercepted.

Your afterburner isnt supposed to be what you’re running 100% of the time. Wing bags for the F-4’s would be nice, but its pretty stupid to complain you dont have enough fuel to fly the entire map and back when you do, you just dont want to do it at mil. power.

And the “what a good way to get intercepted” comment is a dumb one. If your complaint is that you don’t have enough fuel to fly the whole map and back, you aren’t near enemies along the full length of your flight, and so you don’t need to be on AB for the whole length of your flight. 256x256km is a lot of map to hide in.

Ammo and fuel depots seem to respawn. This means that they start spawning AA and ground forces again. I’m not sure if the outposts respawn on their own, or if ground forces arriving from deeper in the territory rebuild the outposts.

This removes a tactical layer from the map, being able to make progress by eating away at enemy defenses, or focusing a particular side of the map.

Once an outpost is destroyed, it should stay dead.

Well they only look like to have a better range, and thats all there is. Thats strange hugely.

Within reason, yes it should.

I want the dots themselves to be relatively easy to spot, but no idiotmode red markers on said dots. The markers tell you exactly what the dot is from ridiculous distances, enable the “flashing red arrow at screen edge” which spoils surprise attacks, enable the target tracking cam lock-on function people use to “faceroll on keyboard to deny kill shot then call it skill,” and finally enable the infamous shared spotting which makes flying any kind of nonfighter rather annoying.

My ideal would be how dots used to be spotted in Combined Ground, prior to the addition of the hazy weather effects. You could clearly see them from considerable distance, but could not tell what they are, nor lock on to them, and teammates would not interfere with your dogfight unless they saw lots and lots of tracer fire.

Relatively easy to spot, but no computer hand-holds.

In any game mode with lots of air-to-air but no red marker crutches, BRs of course would need to change to account for radar differences such as this.

Of course, spotting them is unfortunately inconsistent in my experience. Combined with the low-poly environment they are plopped in, it is why for the time being I am hesitant to axe all markers on all units but instead just enemy aircraft. The classic Air AI units have such low-poly models that unless they’re actively smoking from being blown up, they look the exact same whether alive or dead. With player-grade units it’s generally better in this regard, but the whole map being drab green-brown paired with being unable to go up high enough to spot them from longer distances makes the markers semi-required.

Removing enemy tags from aircraft is meant to remove the tendency of "furball clusterfuck " from the PvP side of things. I am quite aware that the AI all operate on “Airfield Defense Cracked Arcade Mode” and see you with bright red markers from hilariously long ranges. What it seems like to me is that even markerless game modes still technically have markers that are just invisible to the players.

I also advocate for this from a realism perspective. Most air-to-air engagements were surprise attacks to my knowledge.

Hard to ground attack when the moment anyone flies within 5km of you, you get lit up for their entire team whether they were trying to find you or not! I do agree that off-meta planes should focus on these sorts of tasks anyways, but to do well at them which inevitably will demand occasional scuffles with meta planes, they need to have the element of surprise the idiotmode red markers do not allow them to have right now.

Once his dot is spotted and the opponent has been paying attention to both it and the kill feed to ascertain what it is, yes, a ground attacker of any sort will be easy prey. Comes with the job. At the very least though the attacker won’t be lit up in bright red from a careless glance, and won’t also be lit up for the entire enemy team during said careless glance.

The game’s “target tracking cam” functionality. Enabling the player to simultaneously lock-on stare at a guy behind them while faceroll-wobbling their plane to deny a killshot. In my eyes that is basically an arcade cheat, and always will be. Look OR maneuver, not both.

I am thinking on the perspective of bombers and attackers with these proposed changes. I primarily fly props, not jets, so all the modern tech has me out of my element. In the Combined Ground RB I fly in most often, where I enjoy playing CAP (anti-CAS), the lack of markers enables me to jump people and make planes work that are either damn hard or straight-up impossible to use effectively in most Air RB matches. Bombers and Attackers have it even worse - they lack the maneuverability to aim accurately at player tanks while being more of sitting ducks for SPAAG and Fighters. Combined Ground (and honestly also Combined Naval) are Fighter-Bomber paradises, but nonfighter hell excluding very specific cases such as the Helldivers and Skyraiders than behave more like Fighters.

Given the endless vitriol about SARH and ARH missiles in top tiers, wouldn’t giving IR missiles a break like this be a good thing? Everyone has IR missiles but the distribution of other types is nowhere near as even - at least to my second-hand knowledge of those BR ranges. SARHs would have range advantages over IRs in exchange for lighting up the user while they are being launched and guided.

What this sounds like in a sense is that red marker BS is partially masking how effective planes with this type of tracking rightfully should be.

I am curious what kind of alternative mechanics could be used instead. One thing coming to my mind is greatly weakening the overkill SAMs and IFV-SPAAs, thereby encouraging people to not have to skulk at map edges.

And yet aren’t Fakour 90s literally (in)famous for doing just that in the Iran-Iraq war in the 1980s? Analysts everywhere thought Iraq would win due to its larger and better-trained air force, but BVR capability of the Fakours said “nah” and enough Iraqi planes “exploded in midair without warning” that their pilots refused to even take off.

Markerless gameplay would force much more BR separation between generations of jets, which I think all of us can agree is sorely needed.

Having red markers in a “Realistic” game mode at any BR range is dumb, to be brutally honest. No other game mode with that label has them - not Ground, not Naval, not Squadron (to my knowledge). Air RB is the anachronistic holdout that no longer makes sense.

Since you know more about this BR range than I do, without red idiotmode markers, how would BRs need to be rebalanced in general? We have so many cases already of “realistic matchup would be imbalanced to one side and therefore not all that fun” in every tier and game mode.

And yet that is precisely how air to air combat works in Ground and Naval modes, so if it were truly that level of un-fun and un-popular, don’t you think that we would have seen markers added into those modes by now? The fact that they are not suggests its only a minority of players complaining. To my knowledge the main reason the F-14 IRIAF got banned was because it was the only plane with ARHs in the mode paired with a lot of people like myself who have no experience in top tier jets and thus literally don’t know enough how to dodge them (it was already banned by the time I got my first chance to play the event, FYI, so I was not literally one of the ones complaining about it).

And yet, arguably player-like behavior is exactly what we need for these AI SAMs. They should punish loitering for extended periods over the map, not instant pop-ups, at least not over the contested front line where that level of twitchiness could lead to unacceptable friendly fire in the real world.

Exactly, or at the very least only friendly markers. That one oddball RB EC with Sim-style near-absent markers with 5.0-6.3 props was the most fun I have ever had in my decade plus playing War Thunder.

You have not given any actual reasons why you don’t want them besides “I don’t like it,” while having no answer to all the logical reasons why they need removing.

Yet we all know Snail wants to minimize queues, therefore multiple competing modes for the same playerbase is not likely. Replace Air RB with this markerless EC instead to 1) satisfy snail’s queue obsession 2) align Air RB with the other “Realistic” modes and 3) to punish the “Fighter Mafia” types who are why Air RB has been in such a sorry state for so many years. Attackers and Bombers and Multiroles need not just justice, but vengeance.

He is resorting to rage because he has no logical answer to our points, and yet his ego won’t let him concede he is out answers. I learned of this pattern with how American political debates turn into angry screaming with ease (though that’s the most I will say regarding politics, I was only using it as an example for logical breakdown without ego breakdown).

Except all of us calling for no markers are also calling to greatly nerf the SAMs and IFVs’ anti-air ability to levels more like actual players do, not a hive mind.

Indeed, the more arcade handholds we peel away by force with their supporters kicking and screaming, the more potential complexity and objective diversity can be added into the game mode. Not just high-speed scout planes like these, but also ground-based radar stations giving rough ideas where planes might be instead of picture-perfect hivemind spotting.

Except it does not, because you can fly within 5km of depots (which have Osas and Strelas) and they will not appear. Not to mention you can just get insanely unlucky and have a convoy spawn underneath you.

If anything to complain first its the free vehicle that they gave us
A10 its a brick
The A7 its a brick
The other thing that got removed is still bugged and cant fly or it would crash
The F4E for Gaijin its somehow at the same level as the Mig23…Plot twist, its not

If you dont have the F15A/F4S/F18 you will struggle A LOT to gain any SP to get a 500 nuke…or by the time you get one theres a dude that will drop a 2.5K bomb on the main base and the game ends

Gaijin could have put the F4J but nah…lets give people who havent nerded their live out a very insane struggle playing the US so they will be forced to buy a plane (F18 or F4S)

After PvP balacing…then we could lowk talk about AI units
(Which btw,use anti radation missiles against them on an angle and they will 80% hit the target, rarely it happened that a BUK proxy or OSA shoot last second and the AGM got countered)

At best they shoud have give the F4J rather than the E or literally anything else with a better radar
If you say to put the Mig21 at that point instead of the F4 they should give the F5

This is a grate mode if only we could join the battle quickly on the blue team

So if you dont go against players what do you even do in the F111F since days ago (When i tried it btw for over 10 matches)…going against SPAAs and clearing sites for team mates…it was a painful moment
If you against player you have only 9Ls which arent the best option

The whole mode should be reworked using properly balancing give both teams equal planes but hey…its Gaijin, they gotta make money too man

This feels like Gaijin is punishing anyone who didn’t pick Russia or the USA to reach top tier. It’s unfair to other nations.

Not even, it’s more like Gaijin punishing especially F2P players, for not picking US Air or Russia Air

Yeah in general both ends suffered a lot early on since the BR brackets werent divided so it was filled with top tier planes that it was unplayable

Patch just dropped:

Im not playing for points when im flying the F111, I clear Osas using the AGM-130s which they can’t intercept then drop 2000lbs on the buildings

I wish I could bring the Tonka do the same
