Please add the new "Nuclear Thunder" mode as a permanent addition for all nations

This mode has a lot of flaws and i would like them being fixed first. That being said it is without a doubt incomparably better than current air RB.

Nothing is perfect, it needs a lot of adjustments, but i would still love it to stay.

Bro, looks like you’re having some trouble figuring out how to play this mode. Let me break it down for you:

First, you should know that shooting down a player gives you about 120 spawn points. You need to shoot down 2.5 players to be able to fly the nuclear bomb carrier. The central area is a popular PvP zone. Once you’ve earned enough spawn points, you should respawn at the leftmost or rightmost airfield — these positions avoid the main engagement zones, greatly increasing your survivability.

Use CCRP to mark an anti-air position. When you’re within about 10 km of the target, aim your mouse at the marked point, hold down the bomb release key, and pull up into a high-angle climb. After reaching the required distance, CCRP will automatically drop the bomb. Once the nuke is released, immediately turn around and exit the combat zone. At this point, your nuke will hit the marked point in a parabolic trajectory, and the remaining kinetic energy of the OSA’s 9K33 missiles won’t be enough to hit you. Congratulations — you’ve just completed a standardized nuclear bomb delivery.

One important thing to note: you should approach the target area at low altitude, hugging the terrain. Otherwise, you’ll get severely slammed by Buk, S300, and OSA systems.

Regarding this point, we can compare the in-game stat sheets. The Roland 3’s performance is indeed inferior to the OSA’s 9K33. For balance considerations, as well as real-world circumstances—NATO mainly relies on air power, and its development of short-range air defense systems is indeed not as strong as that of the Soviet Union/Russia. Moreover, in this mode, NATO has the actively radar-guided AIM-54, which I think is reasonable.

另外,将所有阵营可大致分为华约和北约,现实中的无核国玩家可以使用美(无核泛北约国),苏(东德)载具作为核载机,就像陆历中做的事
除此之外,我还建议为华约方面添加少量的战术弹道导弹不定期对北约机场袭击(我玩美国的,目前对局中北约即使面对更强大的防空仍处于优势)

This is The best mode I ever played, and moreover, it seems to reveal the future, a future where this game gain longer play lifespan.

I believe that some of the SAMs need to be nerfed(Osa im looking at you). The Patriot system regularly shoot down the tu95 even spamming chaff and ecm. The front line spaa shooting down anti-radar missiles make them completely useless, being shot down before hitting anything meaningful. The mach 4 missiles on the buk give players no chance to react, especially with the fact that chaff does absolutely nothing to deter the ai missiles.

I would like to highlight again, that maybe the ground AA is a bit overtuned, but are people really surprised AA batteries shoot them down? It is what they are designed for. I learned rather quickly not to push too deeply into enemy territory.

Exactly, interceptors like the Mig-25PD gain a purpose here, I spent the the 2nd half of the match at 5000m + altitude trying to intercept enemies bomb tossing nukes into our airfield and scored 2 kills, the other were intercepted by SAM sites. Later on a climbed to 9000m+ searching for strategic bombers in case they spawn, I didnt even mind not making RP during that time because I already had a good dose of fun and fighting in the first half of the match.

People complaining about AI being too good, should maybe reflect on their tactics and skills.

Destroying depots also prevents columns and AA from respawning I think.

not anymore sadly other than to kill bomb tossers, cant kill a B52H in the 25, the ECM kills the radar and the amount of flares messes with thr irst and the r40 IR

Sweden does, it’s the AJ and AJS, both were cleared for the purpose of delivering nukes as seen in their manuals. Same thing also allows them to carry RB74 on the outer wing pylons. All gaijin would need to do is replace 1 center pylon with the nuke, then give them one middle CM pod and 4x RB74, still it would just be kinda eh but better than the A7E

Hmm, Vikhirs definately get intercepted when I play.

The fact that these were not is probably a combination of the range you fired, the other players in the area, and maybe even the size of the munition. The biggest down side to those Vikhirs is the fact they are beam riding… You can only fire one at a time. The range you fired those in that clip I’d bet you would have improved survive and ++ targets if you switch to the S-130F or the S-8KO.

What annoys me about this mode is the only tactic that is successful for strike aircraft is lawn mowing, and with this number of AA it’s a high probability of death every run. *Basically suicide and reload. Any of the long range guided munitions are essentially useless. That is a large group of munitions that you never get to use.
I do not know a lot about the munitions interception systems in terms of when they were introduced and the effectiveness. I can say the modern systems used in the middle east miss more frequently with much higher lead times than any of the WarThunder models.

gaijin pls add it as a permanent gamemode, I’ve been playing since 2013 and this is by far the best “single day” change I’ve seen you do.

For the more permanent game mode, I would like to spaa being a little worse at shooting down munitions.
also, I’d prefer if the nukes stay, but I would accept the nukes being removed (but also it would be cool if you kept them in, and gave them to researchable aircraft)

either way this is the perfect gamemode for higher brs (mig-15 and up):

The big maps make radars useful.
The fact that people don’t just all spawn in one place, but are spread out, is great, it gives such dynamic situations of 1v1s and 1v2s.
The interesting AI that are more challenging to take out, by virtue of them actually being willing to shoot back is great.
The matches last about the perfect amount of time 40-60 minutes.
The fact that you can impact the match by taking out airfields, fuel depos etc. is great, makes it feel like you’re actually having an impact. I’ve also taken out S-300/Patrior batteries, allowing my team to fly high over enemy airspace. it’s great.
Not to mention the BVR capabilities for top tier. now instead of just climbing, shooting off 10 missiles, and notching until everyone dies, we can have some interesting fights by selecting where we go, what we do.

I see how it could work with conventional weapons during the week and a nuclear variant of the mode during the weekend. Keeps the nukes fresh and something to look forward each week but the same gameplay loop can be played any day.
