Hi there everyone,
I don't know where I've read something about the idea that having an enemy player physically disappear, then again re-appear then disappear again in front of your eyes (within your line of sight from the cockpit) is meant to be like that! I mean..., are you serious? So what is this game all about then? Is this a simulator or...? I thought that War Thunder was what I'm looking for when moving from a hard core sim like DCS, especially for seeing that the planes truly respect some real flight performances so that's why I play here with the passion that I see a MIG-21 or MIG-29 or 25 fly like the real thing. No, not in terms of flight model, we all know that it's a little arcade on how the plane reacts to inputs even in "simulation level", but the forward accelerations, top speeds and remarkable aspects are respected. That's why I started investing in War Thunder. But after multiple times during air to air engagements in Simulator Battles only (although I think that in AB and RB the same thing happens) I see the enemy jet that just past by me, I turn my head around to see where it goes and I can see him clearly climbing and 2 seconds later IN FRONT OF MY EYES, he disappears like a "blip", just like that and then 5 seconds later I get hit by an infra red or guns, this alone is the most annoying and frustrating thing that really gives the upper reason to just quit WT forever and that's it. I mean cmon, I came here for something more appealing, just to see something like this?
Who in the world has had this thinking that it should be a game mechanic that the other player must disappear in plain sight just because of, what did I read somewhere…, an “anti-cheat” mechanism? Well, guess what, the one that was voluntarily or not cheating, was the one that just pulled up as he passed me by as we were initially head on low over the water and as I turned my head and saw him climbing he immediately disappeared in the middle of the visible and clear line of sight (no cockpit layout obstruction and such, I was in the Su-30MK2 AMV, I had clear view on him constantly as I turned) and was no longer visible until I got shot by him some moments later as I though that maybe he didn’t see me either but didn’t want to give my position by flaring, but he was constantly seeing me perfectly, which is very unfair. Maybe he was a cheater, cause you and I and many know that Gaijin is still struggling with all sorts of game files hackers or some who use some sort of payware emulators to make the enemy players always marked and visible and maybe there is also a cheat that makes them cloak instantly to become physically invisible for a while. Who knows…! But to accept that Gaijin has thought this as a measure against cheating, this is not good! I mean, how can I cheat if he is like 1km behind me and departing and making a pull up maneuver if I turn my head to look at him which 100% of everyone would do? Where do I cheat?
Please devs, please Gaijin, please! It’s not just me that I’m going out, maybe you don’t care. But how can you make the players appear and disappear physically? This has 0% to do with reality. I mean, let’s see it this way.
The AI planes, bots, whatever they are, are physically appearing like a very thin pixel dot somewhere some 10km away in the distance. Reasonably realistic. That is fairly realistic that you see a plane like a dot from 10km away, unless you have some eyesight problems. But man…, if it’s not an AI aircraft, BUT, it’s a PLAYER aircraft, naaaah, other rules apply? Man are we sane? I mean why would the player become physically visible only some 3…5km away maximum and appear just like that, instantly like it spawns. Even so, Ok, let’s say you appreciate to make the gameplay more fun, yet abusive, by sneaky players, but then WHY should he disappear instantly like he never was visible just moments later? This thing that I’ve experienced was 100% of times only in Simulator Battles. Cause in RB, yes, although the players physically appear at a much closer distance than the AI planes, as if War Thunder is NOT about real life or realism and fairness in everything, but it’s like it’s about some policy of promoting players to abuse an unrealistic feature. If the AI appears at 10km like a dot…, so should any other physical game participant vehicle, no matter who drives it, AI or player!
So I hope this “thing” will be corrected. Man, if I see you as a dot… from 10km away, which ain’t that far actually, cause a real person’s eye can see a man standing in the field from like 4kms away, yes a regular person, not some fat man, from 4km away, others are able to spot an F-16 for example, from actually a little further than 10kms away with their naked eye from a lateral aspect (yes, from frontal aspect it will become clearly visible from a few kms closer). But that never disappears at 1km away in clear line of sight, tbh!
Thank you!
