Playable Roles in Planes, Tanks and Ships

You should be able, at least in tanks, be able to select a role with your teammates, such as Driver, Gunner, commander, etc and play the roles separately. It would be an interesting concept which many would find fun.

How it would work, regarding the amount of players per game would certainly increase. Despite this, it could be fun to introduce a new level of difficulty since you have to co-operate with your partners.

I think Gaijin have said they will never do this. Shame though, as it could be a good feature, especially in longer, EC-type, game formats, where taking a break, eg a bomber gunner, might be a welcome diversion.
