Planned Naval Battle Ratings Decompression

Parizhskaya Kommunaa, Imperatritsa Mariya and Marat should go from 6.7 to 7.0 - how is that Hyuga gets moved to 7.0, but the PK (and her sisters), which is objectively a superior ship, gets to stay in 6.7 🤨

Scharnhorst should be at 7.7 - it can win duels against most of the to-be-7.7 vessels, it’s among the ships with highest K:D ratios in the game, it makes no sense to limit it to 7.3, IMO.

Strasbourg should go to 7.0, NOT 7.3 - the added armor just isn’t worth a 0.3 increase in the BR over the Dunkerque.

Il-28 across all nations should go from 8.0 to 9.0 - this jet carries 3000 kg bomb. I’m not sure devs realize just how powerful of a combo that is in the naval battles.

Nah, I object this. Unlike the other two ships, Ikoma is awfully weak against HE spam due to cramped compartments. Meaning that she will take huge crew damage whenever her secondaries caught fire (which it often does). Plus her 305 mm are among the weakest of the capital ship calibre due to low accuracy and filler.

Id still say she is stronger than HMS Belfast with 12x 6" guns and basially no armour around her ammo racks. Which is going to 6.0

if we are going to decompress. Lets not have 4.7 destroyers fighting something with 305mm guns

Yet an S-125 surface to air missile from a Bravy missile hitting your destroyer is fine…? And please try using an AGM-12 or AS-20 against anything bigger than a destroyer in test drive, they don’t do very much. And don’t get me started on 80’s Soviet PT boats fighting against 1940’s destroyers at around 4.0 BR. The only jet from the 80’s that is on there is the F-117, which I very clearly stated that I agree with it going up. Also please note the AGM-12 is from 1959, I don’t know why I am still rambling about this, but introduction date clearly don’t matter in this game.

This decompression seems to put a lot of light cruisers higher than the heavy counterparts

before i even had chance to extinguish it. And it happened twice in row. So Horst defo doesnt belong to 7.7

@Morvran I would love to hear your input/opinion about the Des Moines class ships in regards to my suggestion above, before we get too much further. Mostly about if you think it would be better/more appropriate for them to stay at 6.3 BR OR be lowered to 6.0 BR: Planned Naval Battle Ratings Decompression - #97 by SilentTracker (Still would like to hear if you think they should be moved up lol, but I would be inclined to change my suggestion to “Stay at 6.3 BR” if that is your opinion. Thanks!)

I need another source calling her a battlecruiser and then I’ll report it.

LMAO, Des Moines class absolutely should not be lowered in BR when a ton of ships around it are raised. That’s crazy.

The class is a glass cannon - the fact that it can be blown up by multiple ships doesn’t mean much, when it can dish out absurd amount of damage.

(This is not an invitation for a discussion - let’s keep the thread on topic and leave space for other requests rather than promoting your pet project 🙏)

Hmmm…

Its tough…

On one hand she has excellent RoF and decent guns (also good shells if im not mistaken)

9x 8" shells every 6s is pretty good if compared to a 5.7 Heavy Cruiser like HMS London or Prinz Eugen with 8x 8" guns with 12 second reload

But on the other… if you know where to aim. She sinks fast. Usually one shotted. (though I also assumet his is a lot of premium players sat in full broadside making it easy)

Is 6.7 too high… Maybe? 6.3 might be okay… Maybe?

Im really not sure to be honest. From a 5.7 light cruiser perspective, its a good change, but from a 6.7/7.0 dreadnought perspective it probably isnt.

So perhaps 6.3 but watch it like a hawk.

rate of fire is king

The British lights do not have a particularly fast rate of fire compared to their counterparts

Depends on the Light Cruisers. Southamtpon is probably better protected than London and 12x 6" SAPs slap hard. I think I have an easier time fighting Heavy Cruisers in Southamtpon or Belfast than I do London.

But there is a time and place for those 8" shells.

Though I do think a lot more cruisers (both light and heavy) could move up to 6.0

I don’t think the Strasbourg need to be 7.3, should be 7.0 with the Dunkerque if you want to move it up, but it doest not deserve +0.3

I agree friend, I am already hiding my posts behind spoilers to save space, added your reply from above behind a spoiler in my Des Moines suggestion post, and will hide this post too 👍

IF you would like to discuss further and/or give me more suggestions for edits to my Des Moines post, please feel free to DM me to save space here on the thread. Cheers!

Idk i dont think a cruiser that only has those guns should be a higher br than something that has 10 8 inch guns, with AP, as well as some of the best torpedoes in the entire game at its disposal

why is this thing even at 4.3?

Agree!
They already have a terrible rate of fire, so please at least fix the thing you have already accepted a bug report for!

Fast firing guns that are quite punchy

Yeah… Maybe… its tricky.

Torps I consider such a small threat that I dont even factor them in. Its survivability vs firepower and I find that a Lot of heavies can die quickly to even light cruisers as often times, there isnt a huge amount of difference between lights and heavies in survivability. What sets them apart is firepower
