@Morvran I would love to hear your input/opinion about the Des Moines class ships in regards to my suggestion above, before we get too much further. Mostly about if you think it would be better/more appropriate for them to stay at 6.3 BR OR be lowered to 6.0 BR: Planned Naval Battle Ratings Decompression - #97 by SilentTracker(Still would like to hear if you think they should be moved up lol, but I would be inclined to change my suggestion to “Stay at 6.3 BR” if that is your opinion. Thanks!)
LMAO, Des Moines class absolutely should not be lowered in BR when a ton of ships around it are raised. That’s crazy.
The class is a glass cannon - the fact that it can be blown up by multiple ships doesn’t mean much, when it can dish out absurd amount of damage.

On one hand she has excellent RoF and decent guns (also good shells if im not mistaken)
9x 8" shells every 6s is pretty good if compared to a 5.7 Heavy Cruiser like HMS London or Prinz Eugen with 8x 8" guns with 12 second reload
But on the other… if you know where to aim. She sinks fast. Usually one shotted. (though I also assumet his is a lot of premium players sat in full broadside making it easy)
Is 6.7 too high… Maybe? 6.3 might be okay… Maybe?
Im really not sure to be honest. From a 5.7 light cruiser perspective, its a good change, but from a 6.7/7.0 dreadnought perspective it probably isnt.
Depends on the Light Cruisers. Southamtpon is probably better protected than London and 12x 6" SAPs slap hard. I think I have an easier time fighting Heavy Cruisers in Southamtpon or Belfast than I do London.
But there is a time and place for those 8" shells.
Though I do think a lot more cruisers (both light and heavy) could move up to 6.0

I agree friend, I am already hiding my posts behind spoilers to save space, added your reply from above behind a spoiler in my Des Moines suggestion post, and will hide this post too 👍
IF you would like to discuss further and/or give me more suggestions for edits to my Des Moines post, please feel free to DM me to save space here on the thread. Cheers!
Idk i dont think a cruiser that only has those guns should be a higher br than something that has 10 8 inch guns, with AP, as well as some of the best torpedoes in the entire game at its disposal
Torps I consider such a small threat that I dont even factor them in. Its survivability vs firepower and I find that a Lot of heavies can die quickly to even light cruisers as often times, there isnt a huge amount of difference between lights and heavies in survivability. What sets them apart is firepower
The big question is what will they actually be facing most often.
At the moment. If I play my 5.7 line-up. Im very rarely being uptiered to face much more than maybe 1 or 2 dreadnoughts. the last time I died to one was HMS Glorious which is a 5.7 (only if Belfast had torps…)
So it really comes down to how often you do actaully get uptiered and thats just an unknown. Either way. I hope they have a finger on the trigger for next BR Change to revert or make further adjustments
USS Baltimore 5.7 - 6.0 - Naval Realistic
In the recent Planned BR changes - April 2025 USS Baltimore ( and USS Pittsburg) go from 6.0 to 5.7 which I think is completely fine.
Now you’re taking it one step higher than where it was before April BR changes.
I hope it’s an oversight.
