Yeah, if you have a big box filled with air and you hypothetically move the air from one side to the other, you end up with the same pressure average, just that one side will be less compressed and the other more compressed. But again, the pressure average in will be the same.
There’s only two ways to decrease the pressure average: either decreasing the amount of air inside the box, or increasing the size of the box with the amount of air staying the same.
The point of decompression in WarThunder is precisely to increase the size of the box. This update does not do that.
I have to disagree. Not only is the T54 mod 49’s turret infinitely superior to the T44-100’s, but the T54’s lower glacis plate is completely immune to guns such as the Tiger II’s 88. The T44-100 on the other hand doesn’t. On top of all that, the T54 mod 49 has access to a APDS shell. Sorry, but that thing should’ve gone to at least 7.7 years ago.
Re 2005 from 5.7 to 6.0 - have in mind that your indications for an BR increase is just based on the fact that a few experienced IT pilots meet the usual US/GB average pilot - the FM and performance nerfs leading to a dowtier from 6.0 to 5.3 some years ago, killed this plane as the actual flight performance is 5.0/5.3 at best. So your uptier is a player issue and not a plane issue.
In other words: Put it to 5.3 instead of 6.0.
Feedback to not mentioned planes for Air RB:
Wyvern needs an uptier from 4.0 to 4.3-4.7. Just check your database and analyse the top 5-10% of their pilots and you realize that the plane performance is way too op for it’s current BR. Relying on statistical average is misleading as a hell of rookies fly this plane without using it’s full potential.
B-18 needs a downtier from 4.0 to 3.7 - or a reversal of your loadout nerf some months ago. The plane is prone to get 50-60% full uptiers to 5.0 - the flight performance is ok for this, but thx to the loadout nerf it is impossible to kill a respawning base - as at 5.0 base health increases to 1,2-1.4 tons of TNT. It makes no sense to fly it as a bomber for tasks if u can most of the time not kill a single base…
MB 157 needs an uptier from 3.3 to 3.7 - just based on your fix of real shatter. I saw now multiple times guys killing 4 enemies with 2x60 rpg in one run - they are wrecking havoc in full dowwntiers and are similar to J2M2s able to kill the same numbers.
A fellow player described the need to increase more or less all planes with Russian 20mms - the majority of players use mouse aim, the ShVAK kills reliably with just 1-3 hits and has extremely good ballistics.
A final word:
I understand that it is a challenge to balance thousands of vehicles and you need the help of statistical data to manage this. But you created a hell of undertiered planes across all BR ranges - the US tech tree is full of extremely op planes for their BRs (P-39 N, P-63 A-5, P-51 C, etc…) just based on average data.
You simply provide experienced pilots the possibility to club newer pilots and give less experienced pilots a tool which prevents them from learning - just due to the fact that their superior performance allows them to make multiple mistakes in a row and get away with it (best example: F2G)
And this in total opposition to their adversaries from minor nations - their pilots are usually better on average and get killed if they make any mistakes…
Very happy with these changes for Ground Battles. I waited for more distinction in BR between late WW2 vehicles and Cold war vehicles for a long time, and now it’s happening. Thanks for this!
Sure it will lead to some other imbalances here and there, but it’s a good step in the right direction. Still more decompression would probably be needed.
Do you see how this thread is about decompression? And you’re talking about moving a mach 2 capable intercept to the same BR as a normal unupgraded F-86? Feel “silly” yet?
Finally, the leopard in the BR where it should be. Apparently what they have done is raise a 0.3 to all the tanks from BR7.0 to BR 9.7, which seems to me a rather mediocre modification, personally I would balance the tanks one For one, not all upload the same, an example would be the Type 69 IIA, they have uploaded it from BR8.0 to BR8.3 when it shouldn’t even be in 8.0 unless they finally add the APDSFS that it should have, but they haven’t said anything yet.Something good is that the M48 with a 90mm cannon has not been touched, since in BR7.3 they are more than good, the ones that were wrong were the others.Another nonsense is that now it seems that the Magach 3(ERA) with its obsolete ammunition is going to have the same BR as the Magach 5 that uses the M111 APDSFS.
And so we could see many similar cases, let’s summarize in regards to ground forces, this change is to prevent tanks with HEAT-FS from destroying old tanks at the cost of destroying the BR of almost the entire BR70. at 9.7, this is genius.
T29 from 7.0 - 7.3
I would say that the T29 honestly under performs in terms of being a heavy tank quite significantly due to the prevalence of HEAT and APDS vehicles, and its only one decent attribute has been it’s gun, but moving it up with these changes would force this unstabilized, not well armored ww2 APHE tank to fight more of these vehicles and more stabilizers, increasing the compression for it and making it far less fun to play.
A Premium tank that spends all it’s time getting battered around and stomped on by tanks that can both Bounce it’s APHE and kill it potentially even with An LRF and APFSDS round, it just doesn’t seem like a good change to me and one that is liable to ‘kill’ the vehicle for me and many others as it just has a bad time all around.
7.0 remaining stable or even reverting back to 6.7 would be preferable as while it’s cannon is superior to the king tiger it’s armor is inferior and especially inferior to the is-3 at the same br.
The BR for her is not terrible, just awkward. This is probably one of the worst Phantom variants relative to their BR. 11.0, but lacks Agile Eagle package or dogfight capable Sparrows, when other Phantoms at her BR have them.
So basically, germany finally gets punished which is great but moving the compression (which was the big issue here) up seems like it will just make it worse than before. Well I guess we wait a few more months and hope that they finally decide to expand BRs
I don’t think we need more 18g-20g missiles at 9.0.
Nesher 10.0 → 9.7
We don’t need more compression.
Merkava 2D Replace M413 with M423
It is only being decompressed, not “going up in battle rating” as you say, which implies it is not simply being decompressed but is being raised by itself.
Funny joke. The plane is laughably mediocre if not outright on the bad side. You will RARELY see more than 1-2 kills per flyout.
Compression at 9.0-10.0 is like half if not a quarter of the type of compression thats at 6.3-7.7 so its not a big deal. I do think soon after this they should raise everything at 10.0-11.7 up by 0.3 again like they did before.
Shush didn’t you get it by now according to so many it’s super “op” while being worse than the Type 16 in everyway and by no means should be the same br as it. ZTL br is the same
I think you’re coping hard. Late WW2 was far more compressed than what you described. They also DID decompress 7.3-9.0 out, only raising the best vehicles…
I agree its silly however I think people simply want the non-stabilized amx-30s to stay put in BR since they aren’t very good. Decompression allows for this sometimes.
I remember flying it when Hispanos were fine and honestly it had great performance and with good enough aim could get a decent number of kills.
I haven’t played much since realshatter was introduced and even less after it was “fixed” but I’ve heard Hispanos are good now so I can image the M.B.157 would also be back to being at least “fine”.
How’s the Sa’ar going down to 8.7 compression? That thing is a flying brick that only has two barely useable missiles. The Shafrir 2 range is extremely limited with a very long burn time (5s) and can’t hit a target more than 2km out. The Nesher has one of if not the worst flight performance for a Mirage. And if it is just being “decompressed”, why aren’t vehicles like the Leopard 2A4 going up in br?
Suggestion: Reduce BR spread from 1.0 to 0.7 to help the areas where things were not spaced out as far so all vehicles can still feel more special and useful instead of constantly being oppressed by constant uptiers when your tank is 1.0 below a popular BR, i feel it would broadly help the community and reduce toxicity as people don’t feel so stepped on and strained by fighting such superior vehicles and instead giving all vehicles a bit more of a chance
