If the argument is that the J10C should be lowered to 14.0, then it needs to be compared to 14.0s like the F16I for example, at which point I’d say the J10C is a lot stronger.
But true balance at top tier isn’t really possible with the current compression
The SPYDER is a very weak system with very short range missiles which have a very large minimum engagement distance. Even with the addition of I-Derby ER, its performance would still not be compareable to other systems as it will be an ARH missile with an even larger minimum engagement distance which provides launch warning to enemies and can be multipathed.
Vehicle: Spyder AIO Gamemode: Ground Realistic BR Change: 12.7 → 12.0 Reason: The Spyder AIO is currently being treated as a top tier SPAA when, in fact, it is performing in a much worse way than the other SPAAs at the same BR.
The missiles it fires are slow, have trouble hitting the target, often lose lock and have a shorter reach.
In addition, the platform itself is extremely limited compared to the multi-vehicle systems such as the SAMP/T or BUK. The Spyder AIO has only 8 missiles ready, which can be increased to 16 missiles if you acutally have the time to deploy the ammunition crate. Those other multi-vehicle platforms have 16 missiles ready to launch with another 16 to be resupplied. The launchers can also be hidden behind buildings, limiting the chance of discovery by the enemy. The Spyder, on the other hand, is limited to one huge system which can be easily spotted and destroyed. It simply isn’t reasonable to treat this SPAA as its other 12.7 counterparts.
(GRB) Spyder AIO 12.7 > 11.3 — Until 4x aesa radar, optical lock (with ability to slave/launch P5 without radar) and i-Derby ER being implemented, this is Tor-M1 level of spaa. If said problems gets solved, move Spyder back to a 12.7. Also fix overpressure through hitting radar. How comes Tor or S1 can tank hellfires but Spyder getting overpressured like there is no tomorrow?
Show me at least one spaa of this BR that can’t shoot down a plane flying straight past it from 4 km away, unaware of even being attacked.

Sorry, I don’t know how to quote multiple users’ posts, but gaijin, you really need to do some what really proper game design work, lower spyder’s weight, it’s really completely unplayable.
I really want to use high-information Chinese to deliver intense curses that other phonetic languages can’t achieve, but I still hold a final hope for you, gaijin, don’t disappoint your player
You stated 120 is better than pl-12
You ignored the agreement performance on that statement of I’m not wrong
It is an objective fact that the 120 is among the worst fox-3s in the game
I don’t want you using misinfo/cope to assist your argument
With regards to carrier
The ef2k (AESA) is the only one that can really negate the weakpoints of amraams
Just because one aircraft can make the missile “good” does it mean it actually is good overall
Do you know that the developers have assigned the J-10C a higher drag coefficient at high altitudes and speeds than the F-15E and Su-27? Compared to the F-16I, the F-16I has a significant energy advantage, and its greater number of countermeasures gives it better survivability. Without energy, the J-10C cannot perform defensive maneuvers.
No. The AIM-120B and AIM-120C, when launched with the energy advantage provided by the Eurofighter Typhoon, can effectively suppress enemy fighters at high altitudes. Once suppression is achieved, they can then engage fighters at lower altitudes from a dominant high-altitude position. If we only discuss missile performance in isolation, I may have been overly critical of the PL-12. However, when combined with the performance of its carrier aircraft, using the PL-12 on the J-10C rarely delivers a satisfactory experience. The J-10C is almost entirely suppressed across all altitudes by platforms like the Typhoon, Rafale, and Su-30SM2.
Having actually played both. I would rather be in a J-10C than in an F-16I any day of the week.
Flight performance only gets you so far when you spend half the time going through ghost targets with an inconsistent mech radar when the J-10C has a much better radar and much better missiles for up close.
The F-16I doesn’t have the flight performance or missile count to effectively use the main strength of the AIM-120 anyway.
