Giving AGS M900 would make the IPM1 useless in most scenarios. It already plays like a light tank and that 5sec reload, unmanned turret, good mobility, small profile AGS would make it kinda underwhelming in comparison. AGS would simply have much more to offer as a whole
I have 1100 games in the TT M1128. And it’s quite a bit worse than the AGS even with M774.
AGS has better reverse, lower profile, twice the gun depression, 50% faster reload, able to turn on the spot, better survivability, better overall mobility etc.
The AGS is an event vehicle that is no longer available, and the IPM1 is foldered now, I don’t think that’s very relevant.
RB suggestions:
Marder 1A1: add DM63
The 20mm HVAP is unable to penetrate even some light vehicles from the side while most are almost immune frontally.
DM63 itself is a weak round because of its low caliber with high penetration loss over distance and low damage output, but it has better angle penetration to at least defeat lightly armored targets with some reliability.
Other vehicles with the Rh202 such as AMX-10P, SUB-I-II, Typ 87 RCV (P) all feature this round.
Leopard A1A1 (L/44): add DM23
There is no reason to buy this tank at the moment.
It has worse firepower, gun handling AND armor than the Leopard 1A5 and C2A1 at the same BR.
It’s a straight downgrade and should at least have equal firepower.
Radkampfwagen 90: add DM63
With the recent mobility changes many wheeled vehicles have gained a lot more speed and traction off road which put them much closer to the RKW 90 which was the only really fast one because it compensated for the terrible ground resistance mechanics with sheer engine power.
The other wheeled vehicles such as Stryker, Type 16, Centauro, ZLT-11, Rooikat etc. have equal or even better firepower, much better gun handling and also up to Gen 3 thermals which the RKW does not possess at all.
I suggest giving it a minimal improvement in firepower that would still put it far below ZLT-11 or Stryker, but allows for easier engagement of common tanks such as the TURMS, KVT, ZTZ-96 etc.
XM-1 (GM / C): add M774 and → 9.7
This vehicle would make much more sense with somewhat competitive firepower so it can use its great strenght of mobility more effectively.
M735 is nigh useless after the recent nerf.
M1 Abrams and M1 KVT: add M833
M774 is very weak against common MBTs around this BR which usually also have noticeably better armor and/or firepower and/or thermals.
BMP-2M: 10.0 → 10.3
Objectively one of the best IFVs in the game.
It has THE best ATGMs for ground vehicles with extremely high pen and damage output.
They can also be fired on the move, are highly manouverable and do not drop after launch.
Additionally it has Gen 2 thermal sights and a highly potent gun that is superiour to basically all other IFVs due to its combination of penetration and rate of fire.
2S38: 10.0 → 10.3
Do I have to say anything about this?
IR tracking, proxy fuse, highly potent APFSDS rounds that are not limited like on OTOMATIC, unmanned turret.
This is a better HSTV-L, better OTOMATIC, a full BR lower than both of them.
Strela-10M2: 9.3 → 10.0
This vehicle blows other SPAA even 1.0 BRs higher completely out of the water.
The missiles pull exceptionally hard, hase higher lock range, higher speed, proxy fuse with 4x the range and more than twice the explosive mass of FIM-92 and Type 93
2S6 Tunguska: 10.7 → 11.3
This vehicles missiles were quite literally doubled in G overload last year and it stayed at 10.7.
It not only has very potent guns, and IR tracker and thermals that other SAMs like Roland lack entirely, but also a better radar, 2km more missile range, 12G more missile overload, faster missiles and instant fire of all 8 SAMs.
This is in all regards an almost top tier worthy SPAA that might even be better than stuff like FlaRakRad.
The fact that it’s just 0.3 above the Roland and at a lower BR than for example OTOMATIC is just highly unfair.
KF41 Lynx: 10.7 → 10.3
Just a tracked Vilkas.
It has the MK30 of the Puma which not only has a low ROF but also very low damage and an unusually loud sound that alerts enemies from a large distance.
The StrikeShield APS doesn’t protect the vehicle from damage even in the rare occasion where it does activate and SPIKE missiles are not just unreliable but it also only has two of them which often cannot produce a kill even if both are fired on a single target.
Ig but I don’t feel like having a light tank better than MBT from the same BR is healthy
That is why it should be 11.3 if it gets M900. It would fall decently in line with the Centauro 120 and CV90120.
yep
IT-1 is one of strongest atgm carriers at 8.3… Fire on the move, strong armour and the missile still can’t be ammoracked.
Definitely not the same as udes etc.
Edit: nvm dude edited it.
Top tier is not the same as mid tier.
Having the ability to actually reverse is a great thing.
Beyond that, the M26 has far superior turret armor, an actually worthwhile APCR round (M304 can go through a Panther’s UFP at close ranges), and overall stronger hull armor due to the fact you can angle much more effectively. I’d even argue that overall M82 is a bit better than Pzgr.39/42.
Sure, but when the M26 gets M82 that is irrelevant.
Also, the completely busted Ka-50 should go up in BR. It’s one of the most OP top tier vehicles and, unlike the unfortunate French tanks (AMX10… seriously…), actually deserves to go up. Or alternatively to make it’s damage and damaged flight models slighlty more realistic and taking into accounts the basic laws of physics. Newton ones, in particular…
yust to add
normal snail reasoning
z19 11.3 reason it counter plane to well
k50 11.0 he kill the fun in the game but no thermal
The XM8 is a US light tank (event vehicle) which sits at 9.7.
It’s best ammunition is M774. This is a dart which you first get access to at 9.0 with the M60A3 TTS.
Light tanks are usually given more powerful rounds than equivelent tier MBTs for gameplay and balancing purposes. Not the XM8 though…
For comparison, here are the ammunition options for T-64B, a USSR MBT also at 9.7.
3BM42 blows M774 out of the water, and I don’t think I need to say more.
What about other light tanks? Here are the ammunition options for TAM 2IP, a German light tank at 9.0…
Note the DM33 with 408mm pen. Even a 9.0 light tank has better ammunition than XM8 at 9.7.
Now, time for my proposal.
-
Give M833, a round with 395mm pen. BR remains the same, or raises to 10.0 (parity with CCVL)
-
Give M900 to XM8, BR raised to 10.0 or 10.3.
In my opinion number 2 is preferable.
Since there are no other US vehicles at 9.7 you can’t really make a lineup with it. A BR raise to 10.0 or 10.3 would easily be worth it, if it got better ammunition.
Thanks for your time.
I can see it happen to XM8/CCVL honestly. These light tanks are not good. Fun for sure but not good at all
Personally no it shouldnt, at least with stuff like the CV90120 you get insane optics, 5 second autoloader with a 120mm smoothbore, which imo doesnt compare to the 105mm M900 in both pen and post pen damage, and at 11.3 your at spitting distance of top tier which right now is NOT WHAT US needs (more ppl buying AGS on the market and ruining top tier more)
Ide argue it should stay at 10.3 with M833 simply because its still a sub 400mm of pen and when you have stuff like the CV90105 with DM33 (over 400mm pen) at 5 second autoloader + gen 2 thermals I legit dont see why this even is going to 11.0 with M833.
CV90105 is literally still gunna be better than the AGS in all situations except hull down
I’m sorry but the Somua SM has no place in 8.0! It’s perfect at 7.7 and is in no need in an BR increase!
At 8.0 it wont be able to do much becouse when up tiered it will face a lot of tanks with early ERA and composite armor (CA), witch will render its sheel usless.
Add on that if u play at 8.0 witch in current BR 7.7 it does when Up tiered it struggles a little against the Russian and Chinese armor! At it’s current BR 7.7 its balanced and works fine, with it not being over bearing or under powered!
So the Somua SM should stay 7.7!
why do you list the 5s reload as an advantage for the cv90120 and cv90105? the ags also have a 5 s autoloader…
I wasnt aiming it be like that, what I was basically pointing out was even if AGS got M900 its still inferior to the CV90120, and giving it M900 to just be put at 11.3 is not what the AGS imo needs. hence I then compared it to the 90105 which arguably is better in firepower/optics yet sits at lower BR than the AGS currently even without M833
Hence ide rather see the AGS stay at 10.3 with M833
Anyway, as always and totally unsurprisingly, the only significant BR down are for the usual nations that actually don’t need them: Germany, Russia and the USA.
It’s why I said that I understood why they raised it, I never said I completely agreed with it. I know that they would see it through such a lens that they would raise it due to their Anti-Tank capabilities rather than thinking twice of the repercussions on line ups context as they learned with the Italians now. Hence, why I said that this change shouldn’t be live until they can find literally anything to fill in the gap between CCKW 353 and the AMX-13 DCA 40 if they do want to raise them as it would, yet again, deprive the France for SPAA for their low tier line ups, yet again.
I definitely did not edit it any point, but I do have to agree that IT1 is strong at least when compared to “normal” missile carriers, it’s basically the same a heavy soviet tank but instead of a stupid APHE super-gun it has a load of strong missiles. It’s a bit too strong for 8.3 but definitely not worth 8.7, the problem is that 8.0~9.0 range is insanely compressed and they are actually making it slightly worse with these planned changes.
Also Shturm-S is at least in my opinion a stronger vehicle (mostly due to it’s firepower and missile selection) and naturally shouldn’t share it’s BR with IT1
