So what you’re saying is you’d rather the Aim-120 be spammed against those planes? Because you can’t decoy Aim-120s by turning. I’d rather just being able to turn away from fakours instead of having to precisely notch, spam chaff, and dodge like an Aim-9M to get rid of one. But sure, somehow the fakour that can’t track in and past the notch is more of a problem.
ARH doesn’t make them good missiles. You know this though. Just more to complain about.
I knew it. It always comes down to this with you people. Congrats on missing the whole point.
If you understand how their tracking works, AIM-120s can be notched and thrown off with only a few pops of chaff.
I’d recommend that you watch this video if you want to learn more about how to do that.
This just proves that you really don’t know anything about the game and just want your favorite plane to continue dominating in 12.7
I’m aware that’s possible.
That’s still more effort than the Aim-54/Fakour.
So you’re asserting the Fakour can track in the notch/rear aspect? And the Aim-120 loses track in the notch with no chaff?
At long range and with proper notching, yes.
Unless the enemy is constantly feeding the missile with new targeting information via datalink (which let’s be honest, do you really think most players are smart enough to know how datalink works?), it is very possible to dodge an AIM-120 without chaff.
Not only should Somua stay at 7.7, all other French vehicles that got moved up to 8.0 should be lowered to 7.7 once again.
Uh. Most players do that. There’s no reason to Maddog missiles from 50km away. That’s such a niche scenario anyway.
I do, but having the only ARH at that BR meant it felt incredibly unfair to fight in 11.7/12.0 aircraft. It wasn’t fair to be fighting something with 2-3 times the range, and superior flight performance.
I don’t have an issue with the standard F-14A, but the IRAF deserves to be at a higher BR than it.
Air RB
Hunter F.1
9.0 → 8.7
Comparable planes have already been moved down to 8.7 like the MiG-17, Cl-13 Mk.5 and F-86F-2 and some even stronger planes like the Lim-5P and the Cl-13B are at the same or lower BR.
The Hunter F.1 has been heavily power crept in the past years and hasn’t aged well as it’s main strength, it’s high speed acceleration and handling combined with good guns, is fully negated by it facing much faster planes. And unlike other legacy jets it doesn’t have much to fall back to. At 8.7 it will be playing alongside similarly powerful aircraft.
You’d be surprised at how many people just yeet a missile and stop tracking. You see it a lot at the start of a match when all the F-15s are spamming AIM-120s.
Again, how is it any different from any other uptier? Realistically, unless you’re climbing up with the F-14s, The max range you’re going to be launching from at ground skimming targets is like 35-40km. That’s plenty of time to react, even with the speed of the fakour.
Uptiers aren’t fair. That’s not the F-14’s fault. If anything the F-14’s missiles are a great introduction to ARH in a way that’s not unfair like the Aim-120 would be.
But when they do that, their radar can track up to like 6-8 targets at a time. So the missiles are being fed DL.

might be already suggested but i want to do it again
A6M5 Ko (Type 0 Carrier-based Fighter Model 52A)
Air/Ground RB
5.3 → 5.0
Its an Zero with 2 x7.7mm and 2 x20mm which is the same as the A6M5 (Type 0 Carrier-based Fighter Model 52) at BR 5.0, functions the same only difference that it can climb better by around 1.3km/h and that is has an premium bonus A6M5
Not what I meant by datalink.
The radar will constantly update the missile with targeting information if you leave the lock on the target, even if it’s just a TWS softlock. Otherwise the missiles will track based on INS until they get within maddog range.
That’s the A6M5 Ko right?
Yes fakour itself is easy to avoid, problem is most of its opponents in down tier have bad alert system which just make everything bellow 12.3 play defense for first few mins because they event dont know that rocket is out. And yes you can clearly see white strapes in sky when this thing fly, but its very unfair for mig23/phantom. And yes moving iriaf now gonna ruin it against very agile fast platforms like f15e/rafale/ef2000 which gonna be above already and ready to shoot while f14 still gonna be in middle of its climb
I will not respond further to someone with a tone like that.
I do not own the premium mig-23 either.
