Planned Battle Rating Changes for February 2025

i forgot to clarrify it, thanks for noticing my friend

Air RB
Venom FB.4
8.7 → 8.3

Very slow aircraft for it’s BR. Planes with a lot better performance, like the MiG-15bis, sit at 8.3, MIG-17s and Lim-5Ps also outperform it by quite a margin. At 8.3 it would be at the same BR all the former 8.7s that got moved down used to be.

what xD ?

With the AIM-9E and 9B modifications being moved a rank lower on the F-4C, I honestly wouldn’t mind if it remained at 10.3 if it were to be given AIM-9Js, sure it would still lack flares but really expand its kill potential, in real life some F-4Cs even carried as far as AIM-9Ls but those wouldn’t be good to the plane’s BR for obvious reasons, so AIM-9Js wouldn’t change its BR too much but still make a significant impact, and make the F-4C experience better as well as breathe some new life to it

Japan air used to be much easier to grind through, but ever since they stopped making the matchmaking be near constant ocean maps vs USA it has been more difficult.

Move AMX A-1A TO 10.7 or 11.0 (only 2 missile and terrible flight performance)
Move harrier gr.1 to 9.3 (no flare and terrible flight performance)
Give the MIG-21 Bison R-77 (to be historically accurate)

oh that gives me an idea

It won’t make it 13.0 just by adding AAM-3, 12.7 maximum, especially when the F-4F ICE is still sitting at 13.0 with AIM-120 and AIM-9L/I, which is far superior than the AIM-7F that the EJ Kai carries.

I dont entirely agree tbh. I cant think of any that wouldnt have suffecient RWR at 11.7 nor can I think of any that would adopt a different playstyle now they wont see Aim-54s or F-90s. Things like the Mig-23s will still probably be hugging the deck just to exploit MP to defend against SARH slingers sat at 12.0 and the F-4s never had an issue and the most commonly played like the F-4S are still going to see them at 12.0

I just got in a match with historical game, Jap vs USA in map saipan. It is a 7 vs 7 (or somewhere close to that) and we crush the whole usa team without a single death.

Air Realistic Battles, Sea Harrier FRS 1. 11.0 > 10.7.
Squadron Sea Harrier doesn’t feel comfortable since it was moved up from 10.7. It still has four AIM-9L and is a subsonic aircraft, while MiG-21bis has six R-60M, which are the same if not better, and is one of the fastest planes of the rank VII.

Additionally, this keeps squadron Harrier in the line with its researchable alternative, Sea Harrier FRS 1 (e). Their only real difference is early version has two AIM-9L instead of four, which isn’t nearly enough to keep them at different battle ratings.

Jaguar gr1a
10.7 to 10.3 air rb

The jaguar gr1a is just a jaguar gr1 which can be found at 9.7 with slightly better engines and some countermeasures when it comes to air. It is at the same br as things like j7 which have 4x better missiles than the jaguar even though it only has two aim-9gs and less speed.

What is that supposed to mean, and is that bad?

To be honest. Im still of the opinion that its not the fault of the F-14. But that of poor map/gamemode design. I cant think of a better suited situation for the F-14 than to have a large number of aircraft, originating from the same point, near each other and flying straight at you, at ranges which the Aim-54/F-90 could hit.

On paper, the F-14 is not that strong of an aircraft and when looked purely for its equipment, flight performance and non-ARH loadout. I would prefer to be in the Tornado F3. Its superior in most respects, though not as good in a gunfight. But between the premium spam at 11.7/12.0 and the lower competency of a lot of those players in defending or positioning smartly and then the poor map design well suited for early game ARH volleys, the F-14s just ended up being good.

But in other gamemodes like SB, where a lot of that strength doesnt really exist. I just dont see them all that much. Granted its not a bracket im actively playing at the moment all that frequently, but when I do. I often see them running at least some Aim-7s or R-27Rs and not pure ARH like they may in ARB

Mode: Realistic Battles
Vehicle: Su-39
Changes:

  • BR: 11.3 (GRB)/11.7 (ARB) > 12.3 (GRB)/12.7 (ARB)
  • Add the ability to mount R-77s on pylons 2 & 9, and R-27Rs on pylons 3 & 8

Reasoning: The aircraft is capable of using these missiles thanks to the Kyopo-25 radar pod, and it will greatly improve the vehicle’s effectiveness in high tier air battles.

Air RB, JH-7A. 12.3 > 11.7
This aircraft has absolutely no justifiable reason to be at such a high BR where it can regularly face AIM-120 when it is slow, only carries 4 missiles and those missiles are only regular IR with no IRCCM.
Ground attack capabilities should have no bearing on its Air RB BR.

I never said it didn’t happen anymore, just that it was a far less common occurrence than it used to be.

What br would it be?
