Planned Battle Rating changes for August 2025 (updated 16:00, 15.08)

yea nothing wrong here…

Yea there’s a reason it was moved to 6.7 in the first place (hint: it wasn’t the mobility or the armor)

Sea hawks moving to 8.3 hoo boy at least bring the mig-15s to 8.3 with us its criminal they get to be 8.0, welp time to adapt to fighting 9.3 supersonics.

No, mobility nerf is what it keeps Tiger from going to 7.0.

they dont have aim9bs

Neither does the Hunter F1 at 9.0. Should that get dropped down to 8.0 because it has no Aim-9Bs?

9Bs aren’t the boogey man to be scared of I love stalling my enemies in the MiG-15.

Yeah Hesh was changed years ago… if Hesh behaved like IRL even 105mms would just devastate T54, T55 etc. as the overpressure spreads 3-3,5 m behind the armor which is well beyond the turret… but well, it is sad what Hesh is in WT today.

Next time can we get a br change to the mi8-amtsh-vn because it doesn’t make any sense to be at 11.0 at it should be 10.7.

why is the 2S38 only getting uptiered in arcade of all things, which nobody with any resemblance of sanity would play even for a war thunder player standards, and why only 10.7, i feel like it should go to 11.0 to 11.3 in both arcade and realistic at minimum

Really moot point.

It has been over 10 months since Ground Battles have received any form of decompression, raising the maximum BR from 11.7 → 12.0. Prior to that, it had been 2.5 years since ground had received any form of decompression. What sense is there in balancing top tier so lazily? At 12.0, we have both the Leopard 2A5 and the 2A7V. Without getting into any specific stats, here’s a brief list of things that the 2A7 has over the 2A5: spall liners, improved thermals, improved turret/hull composite, better muzzle velocity/shell penetration, and a proximity fuze shell. The only thing that the 2A5 has going for it is marginally better mobility.

There are countless other examples of such questionable balancing decisions at top tier, particularly with the newly-introduced SPAA. I understand that in the next major update, nations that did not receive new anti-air systems will receieve them, but what does that mean for the old top-of-the-line systems? Why is the ITO at the same battle rating as the IRIS-T? These vehicles have vast differences in effectiveness. The new SAM systems feel as though they should be a full BR-point higher than anything that we had before, save for maybe the Pantsir. Additionally, these new “12.0” SAM systems make it borderline useless to bring any non-12.0 plane with long-range munitions.

The last point I would like to make regarding the current BR system is how unhealthy it is for the game. I have been playing for over 10 years at this stage. I do remember the days of queueing up for a match of 7.0 Air RB and it taking 5+ minutes to get a match because nobody was playing Germany or Russia at that BR. Having the ability to queue up with opponents between 6.0 - 8.0 was a passable solution at the time to ensure quicker queues. However, things have changed drastically since that time. Since 2018, we have almost quintupled the amount of active players at any given time. I don’t think there’s a single player in this community that would mind even having a 60 second average queue time if it meant they’d get into a balanced match every single game. In a perfect world, I would like to see a maximum of a .3 BR range in any game. You’re either uptiered or downtiered, but there’s no crazy discrepency in vehicle capabilities like we see today. However, I think a .7 BR range is a more realistic step to take. I still think it would lead to poor-quality gameplay, but it’d be a step in the right direction.

The reason the Battle Rating issue I think is so unhealthy for the game is that it stunts player skill development. There’s such a dramatic swing between good games and bad games currently - either you’re in a 1.0 downtier in a heavy tank where you’re almost unkillable, holding W and clicking on enemies, doing well despite objectively playing very poorly. On the flip side, in bad games, you could even be doing everything right, playing well, and suddenly an IS-4M pulls around the corner and you’re completely helpless in your M26. Despite playing smart, your gameplay has been punished by matchmaking. If Gaijin wants this game to have a legitimate E-Sports presence, they need the game to be competetive enough for a casual player to be interested in watching the events, as well as improving their skills to someday compete themselves.

TLDR, increase GRB to 14.0 and plug vehicle statistics into GPT-5 to rebalance every vehicle Ranks I-VIII.

Because stats indicate it’s not that good of a vehicle to move up to 11.3 ?

Parrots gonna parrot.

TURM III

Ground Realistic

8.3→8.7

Reason: Despite the lack of armor, it has an amazing stabilized autoloaded cannon, and the 30mm Coax is the best secondary weapon carried by any tank in the game (it makes the 20mm coax on the french tanks looks like a water gun in comparison). The ammo if fires pierces right through any heavies it faces, it runs circles around the many unstabilized tanks it faces in a downtier, and if the already fast reload on the 105mm was not fast enough for you, you can obliterate light tanks with the 30mm, and many MBT’s from the side with it. And this is not mentioning the amazing mobility it has, the same or more compared to fast MBT’s like the AMX-30, while not having to deal with the major downsides of having no stabilizer.
It is also just plain superior to other tanks in its BR as well. For example, the T95E1 (is unstabilzed, has worse armor),
If the BMD-4, XM-800T are going up in BR, the TURM-III should as well. Or even give it an APFSDS round and put it and 9.0 so it is no longer terrorizing lower tier tanks.

Lol. Bmd back to 9.3 too then. And vbc

Since the cannon is literally just a modified version of the BL 7.2-inch howitzer placed in a tank, can we give it the 7.2in Shell, HE, Mark 1D? It honestly would be better t in comparison to the HESH round in many cases.

The British 7.2in Shell, HE, Mark 1D was filled with Amatol 50/50. The amount of explosive filling was 28 lbs.

German engines were limited in max. RPM due to reliability issues. Since reliability is not part of the game, it’s debatable wether these vehicles should or should not have their theoretical engine performance.
700 hp is the “Höchstleistung” for this engine, 600 hp is “Dauerleistung”. Meaning maximum and constant power output. ALL vehicles in game run on maximum power, VT1-2 for example or all Panzer III/IV

If I read it correctly the Wikipedia pages lists 700HP Max at 3000RPM and 650HP Dauerleistung with 2800RPM referring to “Spielberger: Der Panzerkampfwagen Tiger und seine Abarten. S. 190–191

It’s Gaijin double standart.
