Planned Battle Rating Changes (August 2026)

Ostwind 2 was very much real.

Well, the Panther 2 did exist, it just could never exist in the form we have in game.
Also, we have some written accounts of soldiers finding a “twin gunned SPAA resembling an Ostwind” in Czechoslovakia, but that’s about it.

Its a sticky one but if it mattered that much (it doesnt) then yes.

As they are in game- the only good solution is to leave them and say no more. If removed properly people loose confidence in what they grind for/ buy

Half baked removal shouldn’t of even been on the list of solutions as it doesnt fix the problem of fake vics breaking the immersion or whatever the issue is…

Not just one, they found 18 of them in apparently serviceable condition. I don’t know what else an SPAA visually similar to Ostwind but with two 37mm guns could be.

Anyways guys, I don’t want to be a spoilsport, and I don’t believe this discussion should be stopped because yes the way Gaijin keeps treating the 341 is stupid, but…

I think we’ve entered Off-Topic territory for this thread

That’s not proof. Unless you have an actual picture of it irl or a document specifically that points out its existence it’s not real

Not if their hard earned RP and SL got refunded and put into researching another vehicle.

laughs histerically on the grave of immersion which was already deader then a doorknob because of BR compression

(No attack on you btw, just an observation of mine I always keep at hand when it comes to “immersion” and War Thunder)

I ask you as well, what else could an SPAA visually similar to Ostwind with 2x 37mm guns could be?

From what I’ve read these Ostwind IIs were equipped with 3,7 cm Flakzwilling 43

The issue has never been if the Ostwind II existed, because it did.
The issue is how the Ostwind II existed. Because regarding that… we have no concrete proof.

check disc, there is plenty of sources on its existence for you

That configuration was rejected very early in Ostwind II development since the vehicle would be too tall.

We know the guns would be side by side, at least. Until someone finds better proof it will remain as is, but it is undeniable it existed.

I can do that once I have access to my computer again. I’m on my apple watch current moment

Btw, friendly reminder a mod could come and smite us all to oblivion at any moment.

This has stopped being about BR changes long ago…

Yea I’m done until I see those sources Noah mentioned anyways.

If I recall correctly the same source you’re providing, that being Vladimír Francev mentioned at least once that the recovered Ostwind IIs were equipped with Flakzwilling 43
(I am unsure on this but it might’ve been in section of vehicles showcased to Czechoslovak MoD)

I would have to translate the whole thing sometime and give it a good read. But Flak44 IIRC is identical to Flak43, with the exception that the feed side can be swapped. It would be easy to confuse them if not already familiar with the project.

Don’t worry. With a buff to Pz 4 reload (5 seconds) it will likely be joining the Chi Nu II at 4.3 soon.

Anyways…

Vehicle(s): R2Y2 (All versions)

Gamemode: All

Change: 0.3-0.7 BR reduction

Reason: These things suffer from not being available to a major part of the playerbase, inflating their stats because only people with a decent amount of experience even have the chance to fly them. But that does not take away that their performance compared to other jets around 8.0 is pretty abysmal and that they are more comparable with jets found around 7.0-7.3. Hence, they should finally be allowed to go down. Especially the R2Y2 V1, which suffers from having its engines under the wings providing a worse flight performance over the V2 and V3.
