god forbid helicopters arent invicible
Heaven forbid ground attackers be allowed to do funny things to fighter players
why?
if you wanna know why they disabled it, beats me, though baseless speculation (abbreviate if you want) say it was probably to protect the F-14D from being whacked by the things but that’s purely conjecture on my part. I have no information whatsoever to utilize to call any of my guesses educated just know that they did.
if you wanna know why i thought you’d wanna know is because it severely limits the new feature’s usefulness outside of GRB compared to before since they can no longer be used to troll radar spammers
Since the Su-22M3 lost its ARMs i am assuming the arbitrary cutoff gaijin is using for ARMs will be around 11.0 based on somethings br in grb then?
If so that kinda dashes any hope i have of seeing stuff like the F-105G or the SEAD A-6s…
Is there any hope for the Starm?
Unless we get a FSD trials WW F-16A (Block 1), we don’t have a ST-ARM carrier implemented in game outside one, maybe both Israeli F-4s.

But it does seem like the Shrike and ST-ARM are being arbitrarily omitted from the patch
Speaking of the ST-ARM, it’s a bit curious how the USA decided to go forward with using old tartar rocket motors for the missile rather than the advanced RIM-66 motor with vastly improved performance.
I mean yeah cost, COTS parts and stockpiles and all that but later ST-ARMs used a better motor (that apparently only increased top speed from m1.8 to m2.0+?) while RIM-66 could hit over m3.5.
Ahh, if only the USA went and strapped a clipped wing RIM-8 Talos to a phantom or something. That’d be a spicy missile.
The USAF already had a properly developed Air Launched design in the pipe (Seekbat, AIM-97) ready to go and as an Crash program, any expedient solution was valued over performance.

You mean the ASM-N-8 Corvus?
Got accepted, probably won’t be implemented, but its something. Unlike the GR.1 which just got straight rejected sad Britain main noises
gah crap i misremembered it was the AGM-78 not the 88 which was already reported…
whoops
I believe the agm-78 A/B/C did use the exact same motor and frame used in the rim-66A (which is also the same motor as the rim-24c tarter). The rim-66B with the Aerojet MK 56 has much improved performance but is also considerably heavier (potentially could cause issues with the launcher ?), so for the Agm-78D I believe they used the motor developed for the XAIM-97 seekbat( aerojet MK 69 MOD 0).
Some changes are mentioned in Project CHECO Southeast Asia Report. Second Generation Weaponry in SEA
No I mean a RIM-8 Talos ramjet powered naval SAM with clipped wings strapped to a phantom or something as an anti radiation missile. The performance of said naval SAM is bonkers.
Yeah, like the ESSM. Look at the AMRAAM-ER in game
How many arms in game have the tendency to overshoot/undershoot the target rn?
a lot of articles mention the initial verison of the martel, the AJ37 martel with anti rad seeker, to be carried by mirage IIIE’s
As the Mirage IIIE lacked ELS, a poor mans ELS was developed using a wideband receiver mounted in the front of a modified fuel tank. This device obtained long range passive contacts and the pilot was to follow indications. Once in range of the Martel seeker, this was turned on and let to scan. There was an indication inthe cabin showing the missile line of view. The pilot followed this path until getting a green light from the missile indicating a solid lock. Of course, there was no range indication, although it could be calculated using the info of the homing tank and the RWR based on signal intensity.
and also, since Mirage F-1EQ’s carried the actual ARMAT, i dont see why F1CT couldnt get one. Same reasoning as with micas for the rafale or agm65 on F-15I
It is a heavily modified Mirage F1 that was tailored to the requirements of the Iraqis. You would be hard pressed to prove overlap.
