Spawned my KABB into a 2.3 RB. Was full overcast and I spawned in complete cloud. Shortly after spawning I could hear a plane approaching, so I climbed out of the clouds and found he was directly on my tail.
This has happened in the past. There has been a recurring issue where planes in clouds create a sort of “fuzzy” look on some machines that makes them see you from across the entire map, allowing enemy aircraft to attack you even though they are completely invisible to you. Apparently it’s back again.
I did notice, on my next spawn, that the same “fuzzing” effect is also happening. The guy that shot me down was still up and I was able to find him easily when he was in the clouds (even in my perspective) because of this GFX issue.
It just happened to me too during a tank realistic battle while I was in a plane.
In a nutshell, if I gather correctly, when everyone plays cool with full graphic effects enabled clouds are there for everyone.
But if there is someone with low graphic enabled (and not because he has a lousy computer) he’s like a sighted man in the country of blind peoples…
Is this bovine feces ever going to be addressed? I am getting tired of being in clouds, completely blind while the enemy has zero visibility issues and can track and shoot me.
Clouds are generated clientside based on a seed, you can set that seed in the CDK yourself if you want to. It’s just that it’s a hugely complicated simulation with many different factors involved so you don’t always get the exact same result even with the same seed. That’s my best guess anyway, have a look:
