Plane blow up randomly when touches runway

So sometime when I landing my plane with or without landing gear (both situation and at the landing speed for the plane), as soon as the part of the plane touches the touhes the runway, it blow up. Wtf is this? Is runway bug still exsit?

Slow down; fun fact: Slamming into the earth at 600 knots does tend to hurt.

Props generally slow to 170kph, gets 300.

Edit: how did I misspell jet

Can you provide:

  1. Specific plane
  2. Specific state of plane
  3. Specific map
  4. Specific conditions (TAS, approximate horizontal vs vertical speeds, angle of touchdown)?

Optionally, a replay link also works.

Providing support or reporting bugs without the above information borders on impossible.

My assumption barring all the above information is your sink speed is too much. 5m/s tends to be on the top end of touchdown speeds with landing gear for navy planes. Army/airforce planes prefer 2-3 m/s.

Some outdated maps has this issue and may happen in any map to be honest, Denmark as example:

Those bloodie bastards has collisions and may cause sudden explosion of the aircraft, you can belly-land but try to get in the middle.

Yes, Mig-15bis ISh, map if i remembered corret is that space port map (don’t ask me the real name). One game landing gear down, and another landing gear up. speed is around 250 to 270kph. Other than that idk.

Did you even read?

I should be in the middle (could be wrong). But man, they had one job to do this easy thing and made it so hard.

Yes, yes I did. I have never had issues landing in my nearly 7 years of playing this game. You are doing something wrong if it’s consistently blowing up.

I don’t have the plane so I cannot test in a custom battle with it specifically. However, I do not encounter problems in custom battles using F86A5 on the map.

Test flying the mig15 bis ish on westrn europe had no issues.

When this incident next occurs, please go to the above website and grab the link to the last replay after the battle has ended and share it here.

The map should be “Mysterious Valley”.

My assumption remains that it’s likely to do with sink speed or maybe airbrake/flap configuration. The flaps go down quite far.

I also noticed that the Mig-15 Bis-Ish bounces a decent bit on touchdown at 250 IAS.

I thought I was tripping… SOB took out my prop

I think I may have found the issue?

Did you give your speed in TAS or IAS?

I went to “Mountain” test flight map and did my standard landing pattern of:

  1. Full throttle to runway at 500 m altitude
  2. Idle, airbrakes out and maintain altitude to bleed speed
  3. Hard turn left at half-way to runway
  4. Deploy flaps and gear when parallel to runway
  5. Hard turn left when runway past tip of wing for sweptwing aircraft
  6. Gently coast down ~15-30% power.

Observation:
Using the same procedure as I use for sea level (denmark) led to my aircraft IAS and TAS differing significantly enough on mountain (1.5 km altitude - comparable to “Spaceport”) that at 50 meters above the runway, my IAS dipped below 194 km/h which apparently even the landing flaps were insufficient for maintaining lift with.

I promptly “fell” out of the sky and slammed my landing gear.
I’d approximate my sink speed shot up to about 10 m/s.

This was quite sudden, as moments before I had what felt like adequate control and proper sink speed.

Exact same approach on Western europe produces a kind of bouncy landing but no damage.

Testing was done without instructor.

Same results with F86A5 - you fall out of the sky ~30 meters before touchdown and get some nasty damage

I just use landing gear.

Happened to me too from time to time.
Seems to me the game miscalculates (maybe delay) something because wtrti tool shows my diving angle as usual but the plane’s angle looks different.
Same problem in vertical turns you do very near the ground. Sometime it looks like the ground sucks your plane in, flight path should be 5 or 10m over ground but ingame the plane drops at the bottom of the turn into the ground.

Sinkrate? A vertical speed of apollo 11 won’t make the aircraft land intact surely
