PL-12 / PL-12A Missile — Report

Because the manufacturer of PL-12 has repeatedly stated that the overload capacity of PL-12 is 38G.

I believe the 38G figure isn’t made up by Gaijin, so it’s something that is valid.

Spoiler

This same source was used for the weight for PL-12A. Sources for the 38G figure for the PL-12 can also be found probably, before this was even posted, but Gaijin already knows of those very likely.

In any case, it seems that according to people testing and even testing with custom missiles, the missile right now is not really capable of pulling anywhere close to that anymore. Apparently only up to around 25G or so. I do not know how extensive people have tested it, but you could technically build a max G-load to speed graph for various altitudes and find that the maximum G load can not be achieved anywhere close.

For reference, the AMRAAM has sources for the 35G figure it has. While many rightfully say the AMRAAM is not maneuverable enough, in Gaijin’s defense, at least the AMRAAM can somewhat reach close if not actually hit that figure. I’ve seen AMRAAM hit 30G at least for sure if given enough speed. PL-12 currently can not get anywhere close to its sourced 38G figure, at any condition.

Spoiler

For instance, it maybe able to hit higher if it was faster, but idk.

PL-12A given more speed apparently instead locks up and starts pulling less than its optimum speed, where it still pulls considerably lower than the 38G figure.

That first image with all do respect just looks like a picture from whatever the Chinese version of twitter is and not something respectable, so once again if we don’t have a valid true source which no one is producing yet then how can we say that number was right to start with, which is my point perhaps its not the missile that is underperforming but the stat card is just wrong now and wasn’t changed to reflect what it should be.

then show us this please?

its from the AVIC the dudes who make the missile lmao

I agree at least that normally this wouldn’t fly, but this is one of the only sources at all on the PL-12A. Sources like these, likewise photos from some exhibition show, were accepted because of this. This was posted also by, idk, the manufacturers of the missile itself, so it’s not completely non credible. But in this case there’s otherwise literally nothing else. The addition of the PL-12A was already quite dubious, considering there’s so little known.

You can find more in this thread, but the linked post specifically has some more sources regarding the PL-12 family of missiles:

I guess one can still argue that SD-10A isn’t the PL-12, which has caused some issues before I remember on the bug report site. I guess further reinforced (that Gaijin believes so) by the fact only SD-10A got its statcard max speed changed to Mach 5 and not the regular PL-12 or 12A.

Is there anything specifically mentioning PL-12? I myself am convinced anyway though, especially given that PL-12A(E) is also quoted to be 38G. But just to be sure.

yeah see this is what I mean this gives the argument credibility rather than what the other guy was saying about how its unreasonable that the developers of the game are asking him for accurate information instead of just changing the number to whatever people feel like.

so about that (also not there is nothing concrete mentioning the PL-12 iirc maybe some interviews but i dont have them on hand)

the developers currently is just changing the number to whatever they like
funny fact:
R77-1 has less drag than aim120

See how quick they NAB a issue relate to CN equipment? They just dont care, now any PL12 report directly gain a NAB
where’s the efficiency they fix the real BUG?

That bug report is just a tool that rationalize GAIJIN want to buff Russian
This game never care player’s feedback

if you want something to change you need actual sources sadly, you just gotta pray that that change was an accident or that they heard your complaints

The did actually NAB the original source from AVIC
However they are using a plasitc model to prove SU30MKM can equip KH38

they never hear any complain
never see this since the WW2 finished

they didnt? maximum G pull sadly means nothing to gajin as that can be achieved to maneuver but doesnt have to, they mainly make most missiles to have performance they themselves expect of them unless proven otherwise

By their “expects” Dassault paid them to buff MICA, R77-1 gain an incredible total thrust under that missile length
JP is one of the major shareholder so they adding too many stuff in JP tech tree

So your contry should pay protection fee first then we talk about game play
