I fly at 20 metres, drop 400 puffs of chaff, notch 90°, and I still get killed by the pheonix??? How is this fair at all???

If he keeps the TWS look the missile can correct because of the F14 internal radar

Thats what i hate so much about the new update. The Data-Links are utterly difficult to notch, especially with the range of the phoenix. You notch the missle but still stay in the TWS of the plane. Its soooo annoying.

To be fair, if launched from sufficient altitude, pheonixes really don’t give a shit what you do if you’re in say a tornado or frogfoot. Specifically when you’re laden, which is when they’ll be launched.

Yeah, I had a close call where I lost the tip of my wing in the F3 defending against a phoenix.i ultimately blame the BOL chaff though and less so the phoenixes being unduly “OP” though their prox fuse/ warhead size is very annoying

Happens with frogfoot, so I’m not convinced it is bol failure. Don’t think BOL helps chances any, mind you, but even chaff from frogfoot seems to do jack.

yes but when shooting the aim-54 you have no idea what your shooting at. most people shoot at anyone flying in a straight line. The data link is defiantly a benefit but there are so many people flying high to shoot at the f-14 that most of the time they dont get a chance to hold that tws track.

Possibly. I don’t have enough first hand experience to properly comment though. In sim I never fight F14s and in ARB I’m basically only in the F3 at the moment (and most british aircraft that see the F-14 rely on BOL)

But there really isnt much that can be done I think. F14A would need buffs if it went any higher in BR

play with me, because when i fly the f-14 i have other f-14’s mig 29 J-8’s and harriers shooting at me. i barely have enough time for the aim-54 to to go active on their own and im dodging 3 aim-54 and dog fighting with with another jet and getting targeted by f-15’s and 16’s.

Once the missile gets within range, it ignores the plane’s radar and uses its onboard one.

Since the multipath change I don’t reach bases anymore on my Tornado bomber. Phoenixes pick you up. Always. Last attempt I was flying in a small ravine, scratching the ground. Stil it killed me. Tornado has like several hundred chaffs, I was dispensing chaffs all the time. Why are they ingame, when chaffs obviously do nothing?

Its also not helpful that Tomcats getting spammed as they do. Often there are many Tomcats shooting huge barrages of up to six Phoenixes per F-14. A mad rain of incoming missile traces. From all directions. Impossible to dodge, impossible to multipath…sigh. At one occasion almost the whole team got headshoted by the first wave of Phoenixes. If you check replays, you’ll notice that they even kill jets when they hit the ground next to it. Sometimes one Phoenix even scores a multikill when two jets are close. Only thing which helps is turning around and abandon the match.

Push it up the BR ladder or revert the multipath change. Its needs to be higher BRed. Crazy missiles. And too much of them.
