Yes, your tank isn’t invincible and fighters are the ones supposed to deal with smart CAS players until Gaijin adds better AA

There’s no better AA to add that fits game.
A pure A2A fighter though shouldnt have a higher SP cost than a fully loaded heli. Even if things cost exactly the same in the end, I just want them to wieght more of the SP cost on the weapons and less so on the aircraft.

Yeah, IMO the rewards for killing a plane should be at least the same as a ground kill, if not more.

I think CAS is needed because the BR system is faulty, and the down tier would dominate so much more if CAS was not in the game to clear up the mess and randomly take out a few of the Downtierd veterans who otherwise would run away with every game.
The Russian Roulette element is the only thing that makes the game work maybe?
Yes that’s exactly the way things are, fighters counter CAS when AA is lacking
Im hoping the new BR system with aircraft not needing to be balance for both air and ground will help smooth out some of the rough edges but it is exactly that reason why Id never play TO.
Fighter’s dont counter CAS they are just better at killing CAS, CAS can still bring A2A missiles and they usually do.
TO would be a place that would require one to get better in order to do better with tanks.

I would play TO because of the escape from CAS but I have never said it would be free from issues. I would be interested to see what new issues arose from it and how much they would impact the game. Both the TO mode debate and the WW2 separate era debate reveals the faulty BR system.
One drawback with relying on CAP (fighter as anti-CAS) is when the enemy team has SPAA.
If they have both good SPAA AND fighters up it’s very oppressive to go up against.
Essentially a radius of 18km around the battlefield is a danger zone where you have to split your attention, or you’ll probably get nuked by Pantsir while you’re dogfighting.

I’d also like to add that helicopters are WAY too stealthy, they don’t show on PD radars for example. This means fighters can’t use long range radar missiles to counter them and you have to get into knife fight range with guns where they’re just as likely to kill you in return. I find that stupid.
