Looks like i was right.
The Tiger II had a 150mm UFP angled at about 50 degrees, most WW2 tanks wouldn’t be able to go through that unangled. Let alone the considerable slope.
This engagement is pretty heavily debated, there were no Panzer Divisons nearby where this battle apparently took place, at the time, that fielded Tiger IIs.
The Jumbo uses the same gun as the normal Sherman variants armed with 75mm guns.
Skill issue honestly, Tigers weak spot is the cupola or the lower side armor, that is most likely where they shot you.
The Panzer IV’s armor is only 50mm on the turret face and 80mm on the UFP, I would be highly concerned if a 75mm couldn’t pen the turret.
Probably because you’re using APCR, which has terrible angled pen. Just use stock ammo for basically any tank that has APCR, it’s basically useless.
Correct me if I am wrong, but Gaijin did use to use documents for penetration data, but they switched to the formula.
It would be annoying having the penetration of your tank change all the time due to varying testing conditions, and no standardized testing.
battle of germany, battle of tunisia and probably a lot more that i dont recall off the top of my head.
Its like pulling teath with this guy lol
Correct.
It was a bit annoying so i understand why they changed.
Yup. Allied units had times where they would engage/get engaged by something like a panzer4 and report it as a tiger.
They only do if you try and make bad shots. A short 75mm found on Panzer IVs will easily go through the ufp of a Sherman at most ranges. The Panther’s 75mm, the short 88mm, and the long 88mm have no issues penetrating non-jumbo Sherman. The long 88mm and long 75mm can go through the Jumbos UFP at closer ranges, or if the jumbo is below them.
The only reason why these people believe in what they believe in when it comes to this issue directly is because of the horse crap gajins been feeding them since war thunder and the falsified documents they look up on google that’s been watered down over the course of 75 years since the war has ended.
Usually it is a gaijin moment. I always aim center mass in shermans and have little issue.
The “case” that everything that was tiger was just completely false. Thats why I dislike movies like fury. Horribly inaccurate.
An issue with using only historical penetration data, is that tests are inconsistent. Each nation had different ways of testing. Plus, armour quality is a thing IRL, that isn’t really a thing in WT, and that would skew penetration data too.
Proof?
This isnt even a weak argument, this is just “🤓 well akhually” nerd emoji speak.
Well, best of luck buddy actually gaining support to your cause with this attitude.
firstly, Its the responsibility of the person making the claim to provide the information that backs up their argument.
secondly, a source that boils down to “trust me bro I read/watched/heard it somewhere” is not a source.
thirdly, even a first hand source from a tank commander isn’t great, misidentification was common. what was the range? the angle of the enemy tank? was the enemy tank built using late war German steel which was probably quite inferior to what it should have been? was the shot just a complete fluke? Did it actually 100% penetrate the Upper front plate, go straight through and into the fighting compartment, or did they just “knock out a tiger from the front”, which in WW2 could mean anything up to and including simply blowing the tanks track off and causing the crew to abandon it. Remember that Tiger 131 was “knocked out” from the front, by a shell that did nothing except get lodged into the turret and jam it, so the crew bailed and left an otherwise perfectly functional tank.
None of what you have said can be translated into actual numbers for Gaijin to work with. So the Super pershing can pen a tiger 2s UFP, okay cool. how much penetration does it actually have then? what values at what angles and what distances should the round be changed to in order to match real life? you haven’t provided any of that besides “It can pen a tiger 2 though!”
Maybe read the damn post before posting a response
Why because i told the truth
You made a statement.
Big difference.
Awful lot of idiots like to claim their statements are objective truth.
But you are not idiot, right?
So no proof, gotcha.
Do you not understand what a first hand account is?
You can’t be real, you must be trolling lmao
