Pen is historically inaccurate in ground forces

It’s not “a videogame”, it’s physics.

Physics backed up by official reports of gun and shell firing tests conducted by the Army of the United States of America to describe the performance of this equipment.

Now enlighten me; if a 90mm WW2 standard shell was able to penetrate the 150mm thick sloped armor plates of a 70 ton tank… why would HEATFS and APFSDS shells have been made for? Since apparently those WW2 shells were enough to punch through the heaviest armored tank of the time?

And personal accounts dont get watered down?

I’m not even talking about the game. I’m talking about the real life aspects regarding the Super P’s gun and ammo capabilities ontop of the fact that no KTs were even in that fight.

This picture is from a Tiger sight, which was similar to Pershing’s… and even though the tank is relatively close and the picture is digitally zoomed in, it’s difficult to distinguish which one was it.

But, apparently, it turns out that one Pershing gunner identified a Tiger II on the sight on the heat of the battle even though there weren’t any Tiger IIs on a 120km radius.

Not to be that guy, and i might got this wrong since i never studied panther optics in detail, but the pic states “8.8cm Pzgr 39/43”.

It’s 41ºC here, I had an aneurysm for a moment lmao, edited xD

All good chief

No, you are unwilling to understand the history of the performance of rounds/cannon within the game War Thunder, by people who happened to play this game during these different phases of the game.

We know it is not “historically accurate” as using “historical accuracy” caused a set of issues explained.

The Pen formula is not perfect by any means. But nor is data collected from different militaries using different variables as they were not created for a video game to compare performances.

You belittled/acted poorly in this topic long before the “first hand experience” meme and here (topic) have shown you are hostile towards most replies. Considering your conversations elsewhere in the forum where you appear more rational it makes it seem you are just trolling or unable to be a little more mature in your handling of your own topic.

Best of luck in whatever you are trying to do.

Physics that are clearly calculated into a simulator engine am I not wrong?

All rounds have algorithmically determined penetration based on geometry, velocity, and composition. This is objectively the best system as it allows uniform and consistent performance between all nations and all angles, ranges, etc, rather than inconsistent values based on incomplete and limited historical information and guesses for values in between.

Yes.

Actively being cognitively dissonant and you expect people to agree with you???

Why because you refuse to except facts or fiction?

There was 0 (NONE!!!) in the area. It is a fictitious story created by the fog of war. It cannot be accepted as truth. As detailed on the GAIJIN BUG REPORT WEBSITE.

Don’t answer that question. I don’t care. This will be my last response on this post. I will be no longer on the forums do to the fact that everyone is butt hurt to facts vs believing their delusional la la fancy land.

Physics and official U.S army reports: “fiction”.

The anecdote of a single crewman that is refuted by every other historical account and physics: “fact”.

The only way a super Pershing could pen a tiger 2 front plate would be if the plate was made incorrectly. Which did happen during the war but that doesn’t mean the tanks in the game should work the way they did with limited supplies.

Well the issue is alot of the tanks esp german tanks armor is over performing. the hetzer boucing round from a 76mm sherman is a myth The Tiger being able to be immune was also a myth as APCR could and did go through the armor of it frontally. It was only immune to AP rounds from the 7mm sherman and APBC rounds. APCR and round from the British 17 Pounded punched through it easily. Gaijin isn’t and will never be accurate.
