Paper Vehicles and the Potential Addition of "What If" Vehicles

but ya know japan suffers so we gotta give them stuff they dont have yippie

the HoRI’s dont need to be removed because at least there is documentantion backing them up germany has massive gaps in there SPAA tree because of it they keep filling them with less and less real vehicles

I put “fake” in quotations because there is a scale for fake vehicles. 229 might as well be real and the F-16 is very low on the “fake” scale for me. I don’t mind them. I was just pointing out that we have a lot of what OP wants in game.

Unfinished prototypes should be added in their finished form if all parts were made but were never put together for some reason other than technical one. I am fine with 229 being in the game. I am fine with the Yak-141 being in the game. However stuff that was only on napkins shouldn’t. At least that’s what I think.

One of them had a full scale mock up you could also say they’re uncompleted prototypes.

There were half built Ho-Ris, but they were nothing like what we have right now. They were standard Chi-Ri hulls with a casemate in the middle.

It’s a repainted F-16 block 10. It’s a real plane, just not one japan ever had. And again, that’s entirely on gaijin as we should have had an XF-2A instead.

Yes, it’s a whole… 200kg lighter than the block 15. Or about 2%. That is too small to notice in a random match.

See above.

it still gets cas abillitys which it shouldnt which is rather annoying as the only block 10s that get cas trade cas for radar missiles but japan gets none of that they can have aim7s and mavericks on there planes which they should not

f16a is the best dogfighter in top tier which japan gets but they get missiles too which it shouldnt it should be either one or the other

i find it rather unbalance japan and sometimes not as often russia are the only ones that get blue print vehicles

japan had a big hole in its tech tree. i think that justified it for gaijin.

I don’t see the problem with a couple of shitty mavericks without a targeting pod. They’re almost unusable.

You can’t because they take up the same slot.

Not with the new additions it isn’t.

Well the F-16AJ brochure had Sparrows and much more CAS equipment, so it’s actually much less than what it should be.

She was restored after a while. So it’s not a “might as well” it’s a case of here is real. Just missing the guns, but the mounts still exist inside somewhere.

Thats what the “What if” means, it’s essentially a vehicle that had been built, potentially tested, but never saw adoption or service. It wouldn’t be adding little Timmy’s 2nd grade drawing for veteran’s day but rather unfinished (or really un-produced) prototypes. I think that there would have to be a very tight restriction set with the vehicles but nevertheless it makes the game better in my opinion. It’s a game built on realism but above all its a simulation game, so long as Gaijin doesn’t add Ivan’s Failed Project Proposal and toss an Armata with a railgun strapped to the top of it then all is well.

Which was restored. The picture you posted was of the aircraft when it was dismantled but never placed back together. The wings and such were placed into storage. We do this with a lot of aircraft.

no i just was given you a inside view of the wings where gun mounts should be

Should have written context before I responded but alright. Either way. Not a what-if aircraft since we know it flew for different trials. Sadly it never got its guns but hey at least helped inspire some aircraft in other countries. Just not the US. We were making our flying wings for a while.

Usually, it’s the lesser practical vehicles like the KV-7 which in the game still isn’t very practical.
Heck, I’d say the KV–8 isn’t very practical either but that’s more due to its gun being a short barrel 45mm being placed into a modified 76mm barrel/tube. To disguise it. Practicality is not very feasible. Due to the high risk and low reward. This would exclude combat performance since it would still be relatively effective against its intended purpose of infantry.

“What if” vehicles are a pandoras box of shit. You open it and suddenly every unviable (too heavy, no space for crew, no room for ammo, etc) shitbox becomes a thing. I would rather my game not contain fantasywaffe that ignores the laws of phsyics like the BI’s antimatter engine.

I think paper vehicles are fine as long as they were planned by a government agency or by a company trying to get sales for it. Some paper vehicles are just really cool, such as the M1 ALVT and the M1 AGDS.
