This is the real limiting factor imho.
Lack of armour is not an issue for many vehicles in this game. The gun works at much higher BRs - the PaK Puma is viable even if you bring it with late WW2 lineups for example.
But the mobility…
Being both slow and unarmoured is what limits your options. Past a certain BR, the G becomes better purely because it sheds extra protection you don’t need and gets some ability to motor around in return.

I got a nuke in the PBV 501, when it came out actually, and that doesn’t mean it’s good, it just means my positioning was good or my enemies are not good at all.
The thing about the Pz. IV J is that the from 80mm face plate is good, almost always a harder kill when angled, but shooting low on the front transmission box is an easy, easy kill. Idk what to say, it’s not unkillable where it is currently, but It’s also got good enough firepower and armor to be higher.

Which is pretty accurate, I mean, they all have specific weak spots, very large weak spots at that. The entire lower glacis is a weak spot on the IS series tanks, which is only about 100mm iirc, which is a relatively close to the limits of the round at range.
Considering it’s a APHECBC round, it gets pretty foul angle penetration. Either way, it’s a known weak spot, have fun trying to kill those tanks from range or hull down though.

Also the hatch of IS1-2 is a really easy weakpoint to kill him with a one shot even for a 75mm sherman,so yeah, if u are a skilled player u can use it even at 5.7 without problems
You’re welcome. I try to be when I can, I’m just here to help people and suggest new vehicles, and only get aggressive when others are overly aggressive with other or me before hand. I get regularly aggressive with US mains for reasons everyone is all to familiar with.
I used to actually, supported my Tiger H1 before I unlocked the Panthers back when it was 4.7; it did pretty solid, just a glass cannon.

crazy take so panzer IV H is completely fine where it is its the perfect counter to the welded hull M4 and T34s it should be 4.0 thats all the J is fine wherre it is and so is the G as both can be one tapped through turret and you can kupola it
its armor on its front plate works till it doesnt then you die its a good ranged tank and if you angle it you die cause you expose the weak side cause unlike the tiger 1 its not a rectangle its a trapazoid at the front front plate is 80mm and sides are like 30mm this is just a skill issue
especially since most tanks you fight you dont get first shot advantage due most having low speed STAB which means your gun is never bouncing after a abrupt stops which allows for aiming for weak spots and if you land one youll crit and kill him but the only tanks that dont have STAB are things like T34s but they get really good armor which can bounce a german 75 if he doesnt aim right or side scrapes
this is coming from a guys whos played all three and i prefer T34s or shermans over PZ4 any day of the weak

Eh the Panzer IVs could possibly go up a bit, F2 is fine at 3.3, G could go to 3.7, J could go to 4.0 and H to 4.3, that would make them a bit more balanced. For all of you saying its post pen isn’t good, yes, yes it is. 28g TNT is more than enough. Go play 77mm APDS then see what bad post pen is like :3
Not trying to be rude, but as a British main, 28g TNT is like heaven, so point and click. (Yes I know my stats are bad in it, I’m just not as good as yall lol)

This is nonsense. You are using mental gymnastics to try to say the ~100mm pen gun is superior to the ~143mm pen gun at this BR. You could have tried to argue they were equals due to the stabilizer, but saying the sherman just straight up has “better firepower” is insanely wrong.

You would get more support if you opened with “move pz4 back to old br of 4.0” and not “move pz4 to 6.0 because it still does good there” which is blatantly false.
