Hetzer and Jagdpanzer are already OP, especially paired with Do 335 and Ostwind. There is absolutely 0 reason to further strengthen Germany’s 4.3 lineup
A vehicle’s BR should be determined by how good it is. It’s rank should be determined by the vehicles around it, not your personal desire to strengthen Germany’s overpowered seal clubbing lineup.
You can front pen them with the US 76. And it’s not particularly hard either.
A 3.3 AA at 4.3 is too strong for you?
How would uptiering Pz IVs and moving them to Rank 3 strengthen a lineup that already has rank 3 vehicles?
So if it is moved to a higher BR, the vehicles around it are of a higher BR and rank. Off to rank 3 it goes.

76 even with base armor can pen the gun mantlet, entire lfp, the seem between lower and upper front plate and a small sliver of the upper front plate above it. So unless they find a convenient hull down position, it’s not hard to pen, at all.

I have done it myself with both the US 76 and the identical japanese 75. Not my fault you’re too bad to do it.
How is it too strong? It has just one cannon that needs careful aiming and has bad AP.

Not even, the Sherman objectively has far stronger frontal armor both in turret AND hull.

Penetration main gun: No this is not a tie, this is a MASSIVE win for the Panzer IV. M61 APHE has 104mm point blank, 93mm at 500m, and 84mm at 1000m. While PzGr 39 has 145mm point blank, 130mm at 500mm, and 116mm at 1000m. ~40mm additional penetration is not a tie. This is a win for the Panzer IV, you are completely underplaying the entire selling point of the Panzer IV. This applies to angle penetration as well.
You’re forgetting several other things as well. Panzer IV has far better velocity. That means less shell drop, faster time on target, and easier leading on moving vehicles.
You’re also forgetting about the importance of uptiers. The Panzer IV’s penetration makes it play far better in an uptier compared to the M4 Sherman. It simply has the ability to penetrate better armoured vehicles. The Panzer IV also has a high penetration APCR round, while it’s fairly useless most of the time. It’s good to at least have, whereas the US on gets their 75mm APCR at 4.0.

Okay, so you’re comparing a 5.0 vehicle to a 3.7 one. Whereas I’m comparing a 3.7 to a 3.7, just goes to show that the Panzer IV has to go up. Not to 5.0 (obviously) but 4.3 is what it should be.

Yes, because multiple people in the thread have tried to say the Panzer 4H should be near the same BR, when its a completely worse vehicle in every possible way than the 76 armed shermans.
This doesn’t make any sense. You are showing that you have done very little reading in this thread and don’t understand any context for why I or he is saying the things they are.
It’s not comparable to other 4.3s. I would be fine with 4.0 with the G going to 3.7. Or with G/H/J being 3.7
