I would like to suggest the Pz II Ausf.H armed with the 2,8 cm KwK 42.
It would be an incomplete Prototype, as the tank itself didnt go into full production, nor the gun of which 24 were build and put into the turret, however afterwards possibly scrapped duo to war situation and the need to simplefy production even befor it started. The Ausf.H was one of the developmental steps to the Ausf.L which did go into production.
And the gun the 2,8 cm KwK 42 comes from the 2,8 cm KwK 41 which is a tank version of the allready in game 2,8 cm S.Pz.B.41, just the 2,8 cm KwK 42 is a automatic Gas loader belt fed with 15-20 Rpm Aimed shots and 180 rpm. It would give the german Tree a powerfull fast light tank with good penetration power (90mm) for its size (20mm) Similar to the allready in game Sd.Kfz.221 (2,8 cm S.Pz.B.41) however with more armor and a fully rotating turret.
History:
In June 1940 the AHA/AgK (In 6) put forward a new request for a new Pz II n.A. in the 10 ton class with higher speed and improved protection compared to the previous Pz IIs, known as Vk.903 (like the other Pz IIs that were developed such as H, L and M)
While the Side armor compared to the previous was increased to 20mm from 14,5, the other plates were mostly taken over with 30mm front, 10mm top and 5,5 mm belly armor, however the layout was improved as well as simplefied for production.
Equipped with a newer HL66P engine (like the Pz II Ausf.J) with 200 Ps at 3000 Rpm, this tank reaches an impressive speed of 65km/h.
At the beginning it had the same suspention as its forrunner, however that was widened to 2,08m (from 2,00m) with new Tracks named Kgs 63/360/90
Its armarment was the standart 2 cm KwK 38 L/65 and a coax Mg 34. However with long range plans (in 23 May 1941) to replace it with the 2,8 cm KwK 42 Self loading squeeze bore gun (28/20mm) with 1400m/s with 15-20 Rpm Aimed shots (max fire rate 180 rpm)
M.A.N was awarded a contract for a pre production series of 5 Versuchs Fahrgestelle while DB was arwarded for the Superstructure and turret.
Leaving out other developmental steps, as mentioned befor on the 11 September 1941, the Chef of the Heeres Rüst und BdE, that on Hitlers decision to mount the Geschütz 8202 (which was also intended as Full auto in an aircraft Motorkanon), and requested the Waffenamt to authorize the production of 200 Geschütze 8202. With Delivery tasked to 01.04.1942 to 01.04.1943. In that time its developmental name Wg 8292 SLMG went to 2,8 cm KwK 41 and then 2,8 cm KwK 42. On July 1st 1942 it was reported in Überblick über den Stand der Entwicklung beim Heer, that duo to increasing armor thickness of enemy tanks, the 2,8 cm Selbstladewaffe (Selfloading gun) 2,8 cm KwK 42 had been designed to achive the maximum possible fire rate with greatly increased penetration designed by Mauser. With 24 available and the rest of the contract finished by 1st October 1942. Sadly further information is lost.
