The SACLOS nerfs was without them saying it, specifically made because of the Pantsir. Had they kept it as it was that thing would been overperforming so hard anything short of flying on the deck to lob a bomb into it’s side and spraying it with rocket spam would get you killed before you even got close enough to do CAS. Flarakpz, Flarakrad for example were so good at medium range you didn’t dodge them most of the time, you would die if you even tried to. You dealt with those SPAAs by spamming rocket salvos to trigger the proxy, That was the old Meta. Now you just gotta spin a little and turn and you defeat roland 3s and VT1s easily

Much better missiles
Radar with twice the coverage in range and angle (you could stack a second radar on top of the other search radar at a steeper angle the Tunguska would still cover Higher)
And a simi useful multi track
And then they buff the Tunguska again becouse the nerf was way off

question to our resident wiki. Iam at 15+km keeping the pantsir’s ping at my 90 and continuously chaffing. Am i supposed to do something else to reliably notch those missiles? because it does not work as reliably by far as it does against ami-120’s. Iam in a Gripen EBS
It works better against Pantsir currently than ARHs since Pantsir’s missiles are semi-active seekers.
Hello Alvis, im wondering how you know so much about other spaas when you yourself have only played the pantsir S1.
Cause I faced them and learned their limits through being launched at in custom matches in the case of Pantsir, TOR-M1, and the Roland/Crotale systems; and general matches for everything else.

Seriously. Whats the point of all these 800-900 spawn point jets when a single Pantsir is already sufficient to lock down the whole air space. You can’t use the majority of jets at top tier. Its just not possible. No RWR return, no MAW, the missiles have no visibility. You spawn and you die seconds later. Alternatively you spawn and dive down to the deck to avoid the super SAMs . But what then? You cruise at tree top alt and can’t do anything. As soon as you just climb a bit to lob a missile or to get some battlefield visibility, you get shot down. Its already impossible to pull your nose up a bit to gun down a heli. You get Pantsired in no time.
Its just sad. What are all these CAS jets good for in Pantsir BR range? And why are those that expensive to spawn? An ammobelt for your jet main gun alone costs +165 spawn points (???). The whole Pantsir truck costs 90 spawn points? What do you think does it even help you to pay 165 ponts for an belt with 60mm pen vs. Pantsirs?
The whole system is out of balance. Except you play Ru. Su-25, Kamovs and Mi-28 rule the sky. Safeguarded by Pantsirs they wreck whole teams with up 40km CAS loadouts. It just totally helps russian CAS that Pantsirs suppress enemy planes that much. Things like Su-25 become unstoppable when you can’t use own airpower.

You are one of those guys who identifies as “SPAA main”, don’t even have top tier planes and read stat cards for range etc.
The pantsir is honestly the minimum standard that top tier SAMs should be in effectiveness against air.
Still easily played around if you don’t just fly into the meatblender.

I’d rather Gaijin give nations new spaa/buff spaa than adding more CAS to the game.
Absolutely need a list of SPAA options to try get added to contend with the various ‘’‘OP’‘’ ones, and the CAS threat that many ignore.
Playing against other nations in the SM3 and being able to kill any spaa outside their effective range is easy mode. Yet Pantsir can outrange any other nations munitions range. it needs a range nerf at the very least.
SPAA should definitely be reworked but not in it’s capacity to kill aircraft. SPAA should be able to accurately and effectively kill aircraft at all BRs, players using SPAA shouldn’t have to try hard to knock down aircraft at any BR. Aircraft players in tank battles should need to be both cunning and expert flyers to deliver any sort of munition in a ground game. If anything SPAA should be more effective against aircraft.
The place where SPAA should be reworked is it’s ability to destroy other ground vehicles. There are too many cases where an AA vehicle ends up being more effective than some of it’s ground counterparts, there’s no reason for SPAA guns to receive AP belts of any kind unless it’s in a mixed HE belt and in extremely low quantity.
The Pantsir is fine and so is it’s ability to kill aircraft.
I just got it, and it overrated as hell, if you aim at planes close to the ground the missle just zig zags into the ground and is stupid, there videos from Syria where a pansir s1 fires missles at cruise missles at very low alt and dosnt go apeshit zig zaging like in this dumb game. Its only good vs planes at high alt. And against helicopters that hides behind hills and use those fire and forget missles you realy cant do anything. Ppl crying about the pansir because they want to abuse those fire and forget missles.
Pantsir is totally not fine when it’s SO much better than any other SPAA.
