yes we do, although that device isnt specifically in the schmalturm…
and its actually for the 88mm pak/kwk43
yes we do, although that device isnt specifically in the schmalturm…
this would fit nicely between the Panthers and leos at 6.3 a good medium tank option to support TIGER II
+1, it seems awesome(although I have only played the VK.30.02(M) lol)
This device was planned to be used in something? I cant remember if I read about it somewhere…
Also, I cant remember if I’ve seen pictures of Kw.K.44/2 L/70… I mean reload mechanism, just tank with this gun I’ve seen.
Jagdpanther 88mm
Look, my friend, we have two types of Panther turrets with a rangefinder system. The first one is made by Rheinmetall, which you mentioned, and the other is made by Daimler-Benz, which is the current version of the Panther II in the game. And look, you are completely right that the prototype version of the tank was supposed to feature the turret designed by Rheinmetall. However, this turret had many problems, such as a slow gun elevation/depression speed, being heavy, having more weak points in the armor, and also not having very good optics. For this reason, one of the causes that delayed the production of the Panther II was precisely this turret issue. It was then corrected by Daimler-Benz, and the time gap between the halt of the Panther II prototype project and the design of the corrected Panther turret with a rangefinder by Daimler-Benz was about 6 to 9 months. So, this means that after the correction of the Rheinmetall-designed Panther turret, the tank’s project would have been restarted. Furthermore, the Daimler-Benz designed Panther turret with a rangefinder was a modified version of the Rheinmetall turret. To give you an example, it’s like the difference between the Panther Ausf. A and Ausf. G turrets. In my opinion, Gaijin should revert to the original Panther II that is still present in the game files today, just with a little bit of balancing.
thank you for read
the in game panther II uses the schmalturm which was designed and produced AFTER the panther II project for use solely on the Panther F.
im not sure you understand…
the panther II was not ended because of its issues, but rather that the german nation did not posses the capital to pursue such another big upgrade for the panther series. not to mention that the sideskirts were found to have a similar efffect versus soviet anti tank 14.5mm guns.
i appreciate your input however i do not understand why you said what you said
I guess the short summary is.
If the Panther 2 would have been finished by the end of the war it would have a Schmalturm, thus change the 88 to a 75 in game and return the vehichle to the game.
But this obviusly would have never been done, as the project was cancelled, so the F turret will always be historically inaccurate.
no?
Schmale Blendenausführung is not the schmalturm. its larger and design is different…
i didnt do all this research just to get TLDR’d bruh 😭😭😭
Yes. But I’m pretty sure, that’s what the guy ment. A little alterenative history I guess. In my read he was explaining that after the cancellation of the Panther 2 with the Shmall blende, the Shmallturm would come not long after, so If the Panther 2 would have ever been continued, it would have received those. (I know that the Panther 2 with the Shmallturm is not a thing.)
That’s what I meant too.
and the panther ii must be little op because the german players in br 6.7 are very poor soo this tank must add again with benz turet
Nah, without the long 88, the Panther 2 6.3 max. Now if we scroll up s bit in this thread, the Jagdpanther with the 8.8 cm autoloader would be a really great Tank at 6.7. I even have the regular Jagdpanther in my 6.7 line-up to have some mobility. Maybe Armen Lozone already did a suggestion for it, I don’t know.
I think I can get behind that. The L/70 is a solid gun, but I don’t think the Panther II chasis is quite good enough to make it 6.7 worthy.
If the version of the Jagpanther’s gun with the ready rack being built is enough for Gajin to consider it partially built vehicle that can be added, then ig I’d be fine with this. It would probably be lower priority however, than patching the gap between the Panther and Leopard.
I also mean the Panther II with the 88 mm gun. I mean the same Panther II we have in the game today, just with minor changes for balance.
Gaijin will never add this autoloader version of the tank. Maybe if it were a Russian vehicle, they would add it, but since it’s the German faction, they never will. Besides, we’ve been begging Gaijin for about five years now to bring back the Panther II. Without it, the German 6.7 BR line-up becomes a living hell for German players, but to this day, we haven’t received any response. Instead, Gaijin goes and adds tanks russian like the T-34 with a stabilizer or the T-34-100 to the game.
Then let me cope. (I want to see the 44m Tas as well)
Literally, Bulgaria is the only country among the Axis that built good tanks. But well, both you and I know that in the next update, Gaijin is going to pull another T-34 model out of some godforsaken valley and add it to the game instead of adding the Panther II or the 44M Tas, just to make grinding these factions worthwhile compared to grinding Russia.
I think the most painful historical event that has happened to you, and that you always wish you could change, is the burning of those two 44M Tas tanks.
could be 6.7 with heat FS it could have gotten germany was workinng on it for late panthers
