Sure i can ask but idk abt its quality lol.
@Armen_Lozone said I have to post it:
also here is the other turret.
the Schmale Blendenausfurung.
the predecessor to the schmalturm and the most probable turret for the Panther II
No matter what you do. It’ll technically be a “fake vehicle” plenty of them exist, and have existed in War Thunder lmao. I don’t believe in gatekeeping stuff like that. But if you want an “accurate Panther II” it should be separate. But if we are being real, an actual “accurate Panther II” would be hull only, no turret.
Or the American modified one with the Panther G turret
That’s like adding a red-dot to a MP40, in a WW2 shooter, because someone did this to his MP40.
The turret was placed on top of the hull to make it look like a complete tank, which it wasn’t.
I think it would be fine to come maybe in the same update as the Coelian, Tiger 2 105 and Panther 2, they are all historical to WT and should be celebrated, they can be “one-of-a-kind” type of vehicles but we want them and they wouldn’t do much, if any damage to the game
I mean, either way, it’s still a working turret. Plus, it was actively used in that configuration as a training aide. So I don’t see the issue with adding it
In which world was a single Panther II hull used as a training aid? Training aid for what?
They built the hull, then abandoned the project.
That would be like building a Bf 109-2 but stoping at the fuselage and then someone put it into a museum and stitched some Bf 109 wings to it to make it look like a complete plane.
Believe it or not, the world we live in. The US Army, after testing the vehicle both with and without the G turret, ultimately sent it to Aberdeen and eventually to the Patton Museum, where it received its current G turret in the 1970s. After the Patton Museum was downsized in 2012, the Panther II became part of the US Army Armor and Cavalry Collection, where it serves as a training aid for modern US Armor School Students.
Hardly, the Army added the first Ausf G turret (serial Number 121447) while they were testing the thing. The second one, sure, that was a museum. However, either way, the turret can rotate and was a functional Panther G turret. So I don’t see the issue with it popping up as a premium or something
And how is a stationary, outdated tank going is going to train anyone?
Yeah, sure. Add it to the US tree as „Panther II Panther G Hybrid“
I’m sure German players will love to fight a one of a kind unfinished German prototype, turned functional Panther, tank.
The Panther II is part of the US Army Armor and Cavalry Collection, which serves as a Training Support Facility for the Armor School. In effect, the Army uses it to train Armor Students on the history of the Armor Corps and the history of AFV development. In general, most armor students focus specifically on the platforms they will eventually serve on, but sometimes also have additional lessons that focus on the development of foreign vehicles. The Panther II is one such vehicle that they use to discuss the development of German AFVs and what did and didn’t work.
Or you could add it to the German TT as well. I don’t see the issue in either approach.
To understand the complex you must start with the basic. a mid ww2 medium is perfect for simplicity while still having a similar core design doctrine.
Id personally say a centurion is the perfect tank to use to teach the basics of tankism but panther is a much better example for showing how something can look good, sound good and then miss all the marks.

The Panther was a very good tank though.
It was a very good design with many, many flaws, to many to fix them, not to mention that it was quite expensive to build and maintain and quite unreliable.
By late war it cost about the same as a Pz IV. The big reliability issues had been fixed enough.
Yeah by late war Panther was good enough tho transmission was still a problem, but it wasn’t to big a problem considering that tanks didn’t have to drive to far and ground in central Europe isn’t to soft compared to eastern Europe.
Gaijin’s Panther II and KT 105 should never return. They’re 100% fake. The current situation of people who previously owned them having it is fine.
This is why this suggestion exists. To add a more historically correct Panther II.
I’ve even made the models lol.
I know. It’s great. You’re going all in.
