I think Italy and Germany both used Aim-9L/I on their Tornados.
It hard to tell as most documents and manuals only say AIM 9L and never AIM 9L(i)
A certain manual for a Italian development aircraft that i won’t name only mentions AIM 9L

[Tornado: 41 anni e non sentirli - Aviation Report]
Description: The Panavia Tornado A200C is the result of the MLU (Mid Life Uptate) program. But before talk about this version, let’s talk about the history and origin of the Tornado. The Tornado project began on March 26, 1969, when Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands agreed to build a new multi-role fighter-bomber. In 1970, the first two prototypes, P01 (German), flew on August 14 1974, and the British P02 on October 3…
lists Aim-Li-1 so maybe
@Il_Signor_Regio might have better sources on this
Maybe tornado might have evidence have a mention but from some of the stuff I’ve seen it only mentions AIM 9L which could mean the 9L(i) but it doesn’t specify but if you can find more info on 9L (i) that would be great

With this update, it is confirmed that the JAS-39 is coming for both Sweden and Great Britain. In game, the JAS-39’s main IR missile is the AIM-9M, when in reality it would have most likely been some upgraded form of the AIM-9L such as the AIM-9L-(I) or (I)-1. These are NATO equivalents to the AIM-9M as the United States refused to export the actual M variant to Europe. In game, it would essential be an AIM-9M without the smokeless motor, as they switched the seeker head but retained the body of…
@SushiSlav might have some sources for Aim-9Li for Italian Tornados as well

I doubt 9L(i) will ever be added

Probably not, like De-chipred Aim-9L. But at least Aim-9Li might mean Aim-9M for them at least
Yeah that seems what is happening as the Gripen never had 9Ms right

Hungarian Gripens I think did.
the AIM9LI/1 was implemented on all the Italian aircraft after 2001. There was a document mentioning it, but it’s a pretty well know fact (at least here).

So the Tornado IDS (1995) we ahve in game ,was that in service after 2001 or was it retired/replaced before then?
Interesting does it ever refer to the 9L(i) as just 9L
