Analyzing the experience received in Vietnam and other conflicts of the Cold War, the United States and the Soviet Union arrived at similar conclusions: the fighter jet of the future needed to have excellent speed and maneuverability, a long operational range, advanced guided weapons, and a capability to complete missions at any time of day and in any weather.

Still waiting for someone to prove that Mig-29 performs as well as Gripen or Rafale; not even Mikoyan makes that claim.
Mig-29 was nerfed then buffed a few months after that.
It’s current turn rate is ~20 degrees per second on minimum fuel, which is in-line with F-16C.
Keep claiming that the planet is out to get you.
Flankers stopped under-performing last major update as well.
I would assume there’s also a lot of Soviet aircraft wreckage/scrap too, no? US aircraft only account for about 1/3 (bit higher) of the aircraft downed during the war in the Vietnam, so the majority of that scrap metal found in current day would theoretically be of Soviet/non US origins, no?
Very funny, especially when we have Mig-29G at 13.0, and Su-27/Su-33 at 13.0, as well as the ICE Phantom.
Somehow, ARH missiles are not worth half a damn while IR missiles annihilate everything within and beyond its range. Maybe you should bearn about how to use radar-guided missiles, rather than endlessly arguing with honest war thunder players in the forum.
I hope you haven’t forgotten that currently the Mig-29As in this game carry two types of missiles that don’t belong to them. The R-60M is for training only, especially when the standard version of Mig-29A came out almost the same time as R-73. R-27ER, on the other hand, did not come into service until the very end of the cold war. Only two sets of armament for Mig-29A should be accepted. Either equip with R-73 and R-27R/T and stay at 12.7, or equip with R-73 and R-27ER/ET and be moved to 13.0. Equipping Mig-29A with R-60M and R-27R/T is not an option, because that is the armament for early-batch Mig-29s, which is different from the Mig-29A we are familiar with(for example, the countermeasure dispenser is different). Anyway, we should never have any Soviet jet whose arsenal include R-27ER but still uses R-60M as its best IR missile. Either add R-73 to the arsenal, or remove R-27ER. Or, just do the both at the same time.

Indeed you should stop arguing with honest War Thunder players in the forum.
Keep defending F-4F ICE, Mig-29G, and Su-27 at 13.0.
Mig-29s go to 13.0 minimum with R-73s irrelevant of the R-27 type. See F-16A Belgium.
Asking for a 12.7 R-73 slinger is demanding that F-14B be brought down to 12.3, F-16As brought down to 12.3, etc.
@Serkay64
Air RB and sim use the same exact flight models.
Only arcade has its own flight model.
what country are you from? the truth is f-4, f-105, b-52, f-5E were shot down by SAM-2. vietnam army has very few mig-15 and mig-21. vietnam is the only country that shot down b52
Which is exactly my point.
Mig-29 and F-16C are both meta airframes for air RB.
It doesn’t matter that they’re not as good as Rafale and Typhoon cause air RB forces sustained turn rate AKA energy retention as well as high-speed to be the meta.
That and Mig-29 is 12.7.
Also the fact that F-15E has the worst energy retention above Mig-29SMT doesn’t matter because it’s so fast.
Despite F-15E’s airframe equal being Mig-29SMT.
