Anyways having played P-51D-30 once again after not playing it since years…
Yeah it’s not usable, it shouldn’t be 5.0 at all in current state, funny enough the F8F-1 is 4.7 while having better performance.
hell i have better experience with P-51D-5* than the P-51D-30, is just THAT BAD…

Well, it’s currently nerfed by a bug from the last patch… if that matters to you.
I am not a good player - make no mistake - and yet the P-51D-30 still performs on par with the P-51C-10 (TT and premium) and the P-51H-5 for me.
I am not really qualified to say if the P-51D-30 is good/mid, but I can confidently say that it IS at least usable.
Now, if Gaijin would revert that bug/nerf…
That’s because the D-10 has almost as much engine power as D-30 but sits at 4.3 and not 5.0 since it’s a premium.
P51D-5 tops out at 1700hp, D-10 at 1832hp, and D-30 at 1883hp.

all the p51s suffer from rudder compression. the p51d30 is tied with the 2nd the best performing p51 along side with the p51k. The p51d30 climbs faster than the d10 and d20 it has an extra 70 HP. The griffon spitfire is painful, but you should be able to defeat bf109k4s by engaging in a dogfight. Griffon spitfires are managable, they are slow near the deck so u should be able to run away, gain some seperation and push a head on at a reasonable rate. Also, while the griffon spitfire out turns u, it at higher speeds, say 600kmph + u can actually reasonably keep up with it in a turn and make him G lock. Decent strategy, ive had some luck with it. The LF mK 9 is the harder foe. It’s a dumb plane with virtually no weakness and should be 6.0.

That being said, you’re right… the D-10 should probably be 4.7 and the D-30 should probably stay at 5.0… that IS what you meant, right? ;-)
While we’re at it, the P-51C-10 should probably be BR 4.0 at Rank 3. Then at least you could make a choice between superior flight performance (the C-10) and two more guns (the D-5/D-20).
I would even argue they should switch. D-5 and D-20 are quite a bit heavier due to the extra fuel tank too, and slower due to the bubble canopy.
I don’t disagree… having flown the D-20 and C-10 against each other, it’s a very one sided match-up in favor of the C-10.
