I’ll bite. The P40e is fast, but a brick at turning. And let be honest, at this br speed isn’t enough.
The best 2.7 is either the Potez 631 or the KI 43. Both are absurd at turning. The potez is one of the slowest planes at its br, but out-turns nearly anything at slow speeds and runs the best firepower you can get at the br.The KI-43 is the king of turning, especially at speed. The only drawback is the guns and the durability. guns will get you 1-2 kills before needing a reload and the thing falls apart at the first hit.
A P-38 is probably the worst planes to use for noobs and so are pretty much all US planes.
You get a 20mm cannon but also it turns and rolls very poorly, which everyone knows, making evasive actions easy.
The P-40 has poor climb and doesn’t turn that well unless you can dive to pick up speed making it much harder to use than planes like the Bf 109 E or Yaks.
I would consider the P-36 the best starter plane for new US player’s, since it climbs and turns very well.
Trying to get kills in a plane that has to rely on speed and energy retention is a lot harder than a plane that turns well and accelerate quickly to sustain those turns even at low speed.
no but the Ks engines are just massively better performing say over the L and J, while using the Js airframe only reason why they weren’t produced and the Ls were is that the factories were already tooled for the Ls by the time the Ks went into full testing
Irl it was a heavily modified E airframe, but in game it looks to be/feels similar to the Js airframe, but not the one we have in game, the E and G P-38s intake for the oil coolants are slanted back VS the Js and Ls being vertical behind the prop
